Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I'm kinda glad my server is filled with casuals tbh.
I havent seen a lot of people bitching about the lack of Ultimates, if anything the complaints were on giving us 35 more inventory slots but no glamour space.

Don't worry. Our god and savior Yoshida will fix this problem by putting in another new mount and a few extra Bojza coins sprinkled on top instead of nerfing Castrum so people can actually enjoy the goddamn content they worked on after Castrum. It's quite amazing how out of touch they can be sometimes and it goes back to me wishing people would call out the real problems and not lose their mind over ultimate being delayed, or somehow thing they "wasted resources" on a mahjong.

Speaking of that, Yeah... remember when farming FATEs for that relic weapon a patch ago?... well... that's going to get fixed.

They finally going to the solve the problem? I haven't heard anything about it through my friend who watched the live letter after the showcase. All they did for Castrum after running it a few times when 5.45 when live was put in the golden gabe mount which isn't going to fix people being gated by content that was not thought out.

How is PLD compared to the other tanks from a gameplay perspective?
While I'm far from the expert I used to SOMEWHAT be I can give you a small explanation. If anyone wants to add or correct me if I'm flat out wrong, please do. Last time I checked, Gnb and Pld were on the top of the meta food chain for dps (Though the dps difference between tanks isn't a big margin so it's not a big deal) and their invuln abilities. As far as gameplay? Hallowed Ground still favored despite the long recover time. I've barely touched Gnb or Warrior, Gnb is the busy one and I can tell you fuck all about Shb War. Pld is still easy, same rotation over and over, which is longer than Drk - which is basically doing the 1 2 3 which is interrupted by Deliverance and Bloodspiller spam. Other tanks get some sort of group buff, Pld still has Divine Veil which has to be activated by a heal, which I find pretty gay.

I still prefer pld nowadays, but I feel like drk does dungeon pulls a bit better when doing big pulls in terms of damage mitigation just because of how often you can toss out Blackest Night. Then again, I def see my dps numbers on group pulls higher on pld because doing aoe with flight or flight or requiescat in use is easier because they have shorter cooldowns. Dark dps on dungeon pulls doesn't get high unless you can toss out Deliverance and spam Quietus on group pulls, which you won't do every pull because of it's long recast (unless your dps are shit and things die super slow).

Lol, thank you. Fantastic read, love the salt here. Though I'd probably shit on the WATCH A VIDEO guy too, it means fuck all if you get less than half in a 48 man.

Ah, yes, my new favorite these days: Bozjan Front shout chat.

Seeing people start massive slapfights with each other at the smallest provocation gives me a weirdly satisfying feeling of schadenfreude.

Kinda like watching people have giant histrionics over early pulling fags in hunts. Because, yes, the fag who started the pull is still a fag, but pitching the loudest tantrum you can over it doesn't make you any better.

Depends on if you consider nerfing the FATE droprate and raising the drops Castrum have a fix.

PLD is the most defensively focused tank of the four, including a complete invuln on a ~4 min cooldown. The job gauge is solely fuel to guarantee shield blocks for you or a party member. Their dps rotation involves a casting phase with a single target or AOE spell, where you can't be interrupted and your damage is boosted. They also get a heal that WHM are jealous of, complete with being uninterruptible but it eats your mp and potentially messes up your casting phase. A personal nitpick is that most of the later important abilities have French names, so it's kinda hard to remember ability names like "Requiescat" or "Confiteor."

Honestly, that entire Twitter thread with Xeno and all the replies to it are a golden salt mine.

Hardcore raiders are such entitled children. "We always get the short-changed when it comes to raid content in XIV! Yoshida never picks prioritizing us at the expense of the casuals! He PROMISED ULTIMATE IN 5.3!"

Like the shitstorm wouldn't be twice as big and loud if the casuals actually did get passed over so raiders could have their one piece of super hardcore content. And even then, it's clearly not enough since you've got people in those replies crying "We should have 12 Extreme mode fights and Savages, and 3 Ultimates each expansion!"

Was talking about it earlier with another friend of mine and he recounted how it was either Ultima Online or Everquest 1 (he couldn't remember which exactly) he saw go under due to the devs prioritizing the needs of the hardcore raid community over the general playerbase.

EDIT: Decided to see how the official forums were coping with the news. Saw a few fun responses there as well.
Somewhat moderate, until this individual continues replying to thread.

Because, yes, further delays to a singular piece of content is just as egregious as Cyberpunk 2077's release and Blizzard becoming ultrajews, as well as being a sign of a shifting Overton window towards Yoshida and the dev team trying to milk as much money as they can out of the very small percentage of people who even attempt, let alone clear, Ultimates.

It doesn't even surprise me at this point that being a "serious" player of FFXIV requires not only a sense of entitlement, but also a certain degree of schizophrenia as well.
Hardcore raiders can stfu. They got savage content in Bozja that realistically, only the people in those discord cliques and streamers can do.

Nobody promised them jack shit. I think it's okay to be upset, but at some point you veer into unreasonable entitlement, and to those people, everything is never enough.

I'm seeing the hardcore raiders do some serious backpedaling today:

I've seen a lot of hot takes on how "Ultimate helps XIV through Twitch streaming", when Asmongold probably gets 6-8 times the viewership of peak ultimate world first race on any day of the week. In reality, a tiny portion of the playerbase does ultimate.

If you have nothing to look forward to other than Ultimate in FFXIV, you have other serious problems in your life that you ought to be handling. Bunch of coomers trying to be armchair game developers "See, delaying 5.3 ultimate to 5.5 was a mistake! I told you so!".

From what I know, without going into too many details (I don't want MrHappy to hunt me down), there's been a situation internally in the development team that caused them to have delay that isn't covid related, and they need very specific people to work on ultimate. Yoshida is taking the jab on it and spent time explaining to seething raiders what his schedule looks like.

No, Yoshida PROMISED 5.3, and then 5.5, and he said a long time ago that the workforce was back to 100% operating procedure!

EXCUSES! MUH OVERTON WINDOW! YOSHIDA JUST DOESN'T CARE ABOUT RAIDERS AND I'M DISGUSTED! LET ME KEEP SHOUTING ABOUT HOW I'M GOING TO UNSUB EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T UNSUBBED YET!

God, you love hate to see it.

It's okay.

They can seethe while I work on my farm and enjoy everything else.

I'm actually super fucking hyped for the Stawdew Valley island.

I mean...

Hardcore raiders only make up a fraction of the playerbase of this game.
Sure, let's forsake 88% of the people who play this game to favor and prioritize the very small minority. Like SE would ever fucking do that. They want money and they like money so of course they'll prioritize the regular non e celeb shmucks who play because having a wider range of people subscribed equals more money. It's basic fucking company practices that literally everyone does. It wouldn't make sense for them to put everything else behind just to pander to some entitled retards. You don't like the hardcore in the game or feel they are not giving you fair treatment, there's the door. Nothing is keeping you subscribed. Feel free to unsub and try something else. I get annoyed by people who stick around only to bitch and complain at every fucking opportunity and then try to mask their bitching under some thin veil of "Oh I'm just critiquing the game and the devs because I want this game to improve because I like it."

No, that's horseshit because you're not thinking about the game, you're thinking about yourself. You're thinking about what you want, what you think people want which is just more of what you want. Don't sit there and be a disingenuous cunt and pretend like you're trying to help out the game when you're just out to help yourself and your cocksucking friends try to push out everyone else.
Reminds me of that Tigole comic.
So, if crossing from server to server is allowed, can we finally make Kiwi FC?
Or at least put up a party once in a while?
FCs can only have members on the same server, cross data center linkshells remain to be seen.

Isn't that Rin guy some huge autist who's 30+ years old and gets commissions of himself wearing Kingdom Hearts clothing? I remember him whining on Twitter about how cactbot ruins the "competitive nature" of a goddamn PvE game somehow and a tweet I can't find where he told a player they just need to learn how to get good after the player said they used cactbot because they had a hearing impairment and used it to help them out for savage fights. All these people put on a pretty face because they are serious about being a "FFXIV streamer" but are a complete 180 when they reveal their true selves in their discord.

For the internal troubles you mentioned about Ultimate, it sounds like they're looking for the right people to re-create the magic that was Thordan EX which is still to this day one of the best trial fights in the game.

I don't know this Rin dude but he sounds pretty similar to the guys I've done posts about here on the Farms. Now I have to explore this person's autism, sounds like a treat.

As for Thordon? Ehhh. I mean I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. Drawn out fights like that can be fun but can turn into a pain in the ass if it's a fight you're having to grind often. I probably wouldn't gripe so much about the lengthy fight if it wasn't for the fact I was hard pressed to find a party competent enough to get a few clears in, but I guess we should blame FFXIV's shitty population more than that.
