I gotta say I am confused by DT dungeons, some pulls feel hard without a healer then there are bosses which are doable with your healer and one or both of your DPS down, what gives?
Pulls have always been more demanding than dungeon bosses. Bosses are made on regular cycles of damaging raidwides, and even failing a mechanic or two won't kill a tank as long as they can hit Sheltron/Heart of Corundum/Bloodwhetting before the next tankbuster or raidwide, meaning they'll survive without a healer unless there's multiple raidwides/tankbusters in quick succession.
Wall to wall pulls are a more constant stream of damage which is harder to deal with if you're PLD or GNB that get regular bursts of healing every 15-20 seconds.

I might start skipping cut scenes, the whole OMG LE TACO TASTY bit they've been doing for every single quest is not hehelping
Alot of this expansions cutscenes can be summed up with "epic taco!!! Yummy!!!"
The newest cutsome delivery NPC they added gives you an eat taco emote iirc and the title for turning in 150 deliveries is "taco hero" like we have GOT to move on.

If the DPS refuse to kick, then I am eating that leaver penalty cause I have better things to do with my time lol
They were annoyed that I was making them wait so I chose to be petty.
At this point, I could clear that boss half asleep, like other human beings
You have no idea how much of a fucking rarity you are these days. Every time I do that dungeon there is always SOMEONE who dies at the 2nd boss.

A steady stream of damage is harder to deal with rather than the very telegraphed attacks of the boss. Unless the boss has mechanics specifically designed to kill someone outright, practically any boss can be solo'd or duo'd.

I mean, as a hispanic, tacos are le delicioso. I don't mind having more tacos.

Don't you tell me to move on from my culture and heritage you racist!

Is not like you're doing hard content, if you fuck up a pull and people die then try again. If youre fighting a boss and wipe, tough shit try again. I never understood why those terms are a thing.
Like what was said above, it stems from other MMOs, where balancing mitigations and managing aggro on multiple targets was, once upon a time, a thing.

XIV doesn't have that issue and the people crying over muh anxiety are softheaded retards who shouldn't be playing video games, they should be working for IGN.

Just beat the Crystal Tower raids and also Odin. Alliance raids seem pretty fun even if I felt like it was more like a fireworks show (holy shit mage DPSes have excessive vfx). I only died once, and that was Behemoth due to not knowing the comet/meteor mechanic. Rotations are close to being perfect too, just need to get to the expansions to get the next skills past 50.

Also got a full set of aug ironworks on my Dragoon now. I'm almost level 58 and I need to actually start on the ARR patch MSQs, fuck me. I know once I get a sub I'm really gonna go for Gae Bolg/Longinus and the upgrades, because that's gonna be baller for glamour purposes (and fuck getting the crafter levels needed for them without market board access).

Gonna put my other jobs on levelling duty roulette instead (at the moment Archer and Gladiator), since my Dragoon really doesn't need to be fed XP right now, plus getting all the base classes caught up will be nice long term. Thank fuck for hunting logs. Dragoon is gonna be MSQ and hard/main scenario duty roulette to get poetics for the other aug ironworks gear.

You can disable the ability effects of other players, I suggest doing so since you will go insane in alliance raids and stuff like boss FATEs

A person I used to play with never turned off player effects ever in the 1-2ish years I had known her for, even in alliance raids and even during clear runs of savage/ultimate raids. I asked her about it after peeking at her screen share before promptly getting blinded and she said "This is too much for you?"

She's an AST main as well.

I swear some people in this game are just built different.

Besides that, I have semi-pertinent question.
I haven't been playing since 7.0 because DT failed to grip me and haven't been back, and also because the friend group I've been playing with since SB kind of imploded, and I'm not on speaking terms with my FC lead (long story short is that he trooned out and I wouldn't be on the Farms if I approved of any of that shit) so there's a good chance that I'm FCless when I resub.
The people I'm still cool with decided to start playing the game again because Evercold reignited their interest in a big way, and they recently made the decision to move across DCs to Gilgamesh (we used to play on Crystal) and start a new FC there, but I haven't had the opportunity to resub and do the move along them, because college has me by the balls atm until late June.

So what I wanna ask is: how often do they open/close worlds for character transfers?
I've never transferred my main character to any other servers since I made it, so I'm not necessarily sure on what the timing is with this stuff. And I'm not sure if this is just my memory being faulty but I've heard that Gilgamesh is often a congested world because it has the biggest population on Aether, or something along those lines? I'd like to get in there ASAP, preferrably on my main, because it would suck to be able to get back to playing with my friends only to ultimately get cockblocked by SE.

Adjustments to congested status are IIRC only done during maintenance downtimes.
And I'm pretty sure Gilgamesh (all of Aether, actually) is open right now, so you should be good even if takes a few weeks before you resub and make the move, since 7.55 isn't until the end of July.

The only asterisk I'll stick on this is... don't turn them off completely for the rest of your party. I set mine up as full for my own, limited for party so I can see shit like puddles and bubbles, and off for outside of my party because I don't need the clutter in alliance raids. Once I realised that some people go a bit too far with turning things off, my eye stopped twitching as much when tanks drag things out of my Asylums.

I know I picked a smaller data center but man during endwalker I had no problems at all finding parties, now I can't get any practice ones without going to light

Edit: Fuck me even in light I can't find a practice party, guess I'll kill myself

Practice parties? What for, Savage? I mean, it's a Sunday evening so most people will be done with anything Savage related for the week until maybe tomorrow night and people trying to get in last minute reclears. I've seen some PFs on Chaos but most of the raid scene is on Light these days. Personally I'm just going to wait until cross-DC PF releases before I bother with anything else high end this expansion. This tier's Savage has been out for some time too so people aren't really caring about the gear now. I remember how P12S had a similar death towards the end of the expansion once most people were geared.

End of expansion is PRIME TIME to go learn and/or farm ultimates :)! I had super fun PFing UWU and TEA during the last few months of Endwalker to get totems for every job. All the high-end raiders that don't take a break just do ultimates all day to help get people their first clears or to stack totems. Sometimes I'd clear a fight in one party, join another clear party five minutes later, and see the same guy I saw in the first party . Also saw some people on Light with multiple hundreds of clears on the "easier" ultimates (UWU/UCOB/TEA). Interesting individuals, but they seemed nice and most of them were very consistent.

I'm assuming it's the same over on EU then, but most folks are gonna be focusing on Ultimate's at the moment. Practice parties outside of just Ulti prog are gonna be tough to come by unless you're keeping watch or making one yourself.
I'm personally gonna be working on clearing UCOB before next expansion.
