Why is it that every time I heal, I get dps that have the damage output of a fucking wet tissue paper and a tank that thinks pressing any other mitigation other than the only one they know how to press will kill them? Why is it that every time I tank, I'm constantly on the verge of death despite using all my mitigations accordingly because my healer is too much of a smooth brained jackass who stands there and spams the tier 1 heal spell over and over and over or the one white mage that wants to stand all the fuck way over in the middle of no where and spam holy spells that don't actually fucking hit anything.

Holy fucking shit I am mad.

This is why I've started avoiding Healer In Need queues despite having Sage leveled. I already hate the average player in a roulette half of the time, but healing for absolute retards turns me into the saltiest bitch.

It's the lack of fresh stuff that's mostly leaving the late to the party players or giant morons remaining in party finder. As someone who sticks with Machinist for DPS role because it's braindead easy to play, more often than not, I feel like I'm doing more DPS than the other DPS on average. Let me assure you that I don't think it's because MCHs are ineffectual in practice – I think you're just getting the shittiest, laziest MCHs is the problem.

People in this game in general seem very averse to pressing their fucking buttons.

Abso-fucking-lutely. Anyone playing or giving actual effort will beat out the dregs you get during content gaps. Even a simple understanding of your class will get you through most low end content. Some still have to struggle to hit that pin.

Trust me, you don't notice problems nearly as much when you run Tank only for roulettes, at least usually. It just tends to be slow DPS or egregiously dumb healers. Neither one is too big of a deal for a WAR particularly in most cases.

I definitely don't see ranged/casters LB trash too often though. Hell, in most of my runs over the last several months, people seem to forget they have LB at all.

I've started taking to dropping the Tank LB either just before the final boss kill or afterwards when the DPS won't use it whatsoever.

Retards freak out and stop the whole run to berrate anyone smart enough to do this so much that even people who know its way more efficient to LB trash don't because its not worth the hassle that comes from it half the time. Most people dont wanna get into PUG drama and try to explain why 50 x 15 is more than 100 x 1 when there's a high chance you'll just get kicked for it anyway.

The secret is to say nothing and continue on. If they stand there being pissy, initiate a votekick or use some classic entrapment to get them to admit that they're sandbagging for no good reason.

Of course, once you realize that the optimal way to go is to completely ignore the community, a lot of the allure of playing a multiplayer game evaporates. I couldn't even make it a month on that last sub because I'd just log in, do roulettes with randoms... and have nothing much to do. I think in total I've had one good interaction with someone I didn't know already within the game - one of the Nier raids when current had a long little conversation about Chris Chan and the love quest's dramatic finale. Just about every other time, I wish I hadn't made the effort to do more than be an automaton.

Just saying why most people probably don't use caster/range LB, even if they know its better. I suspect a lot of melee dont LB as well because "OMFG! WE COULDA HEAL LB3 IF YOU DIDNT WASTE LB!" or newer players who dunno when/if there might be some gimmick fight that requires a tank LB, etc. People generally wanna keep their heads down and just get through the content, without drawing any potential arguments/abuse.

Unless its brand new content anyone who flips shit on you for using LB3 as a melee is a retard. Its hard enough to get anyone to use it as is. Sure if its earlier I can see saving it because I don't trust randoms but otherwise who cares its there to be spent.

It's honestly like... it's like twelve year olds getting mad at you if you don't think communism is the coolest thing, the people who play this game barely function as people and shouldn't be harshing your vibe for doing something that saves a fuckton of time. Plus I commended anyone who did that on pulls lol

WAR is the way to have fun in Duty Finder. Healer off masturbating in the corner to catgirls or someshit? Who cares you don't need healing. DPS can't find their keyboard? Well you'll kill everything eventually.

Agreed. If you don't have a group/static to do content with in this game, there isn't really a reason to even bother with FFXIV outside of new patches or an expansion. This game is one giant, big trap because everyone is dogshit and unhinged, dragging down the experience entirely. This game promotes anti-social stuff a lot where you can't even do the MSQ with friends because it keeps making you disband to do boring instances or bland escort missions to drag it out that were introduced in Endwalker.

Discord furthers cements this with FCs where almost nobody talks and it's hard to break into circles, where you constantly feel left out or snubbed but people will always say "you're welcomed to join them", as they never invite anyone not in their little circle, and Data Center travel has eroded any sense of community left where Aether was the DC if you were more into raiding or Crystal for role-playing. The amount of fucking club shouts and PF advertisements on Dynamis is fucking perplexing, with people making alts to have them stand around all day to refresh their PF ad. Everyone I know has quit because they finally got bored of the same patch cycle and the amount of little content this expansion has offered, I almost have no reason to log on anymore because I cannot do savage or ultimates, and I sure as hell ain't doing it in PF to practice self-care.

I just do all of my roulettes for two days to cap on the weekly tomestone, do my island, do my Loporrit beast tribes and weekly Custom Deliveries for crafter XP (although I'm now down to only two more crafters left to hit 90, so that'll soon be over), and do the Khloe journals. I was also making sure to do Aglaia and Euphrosyne, but I finished augmenting everything on Tanks, so now my tomestones are just going towards making sure the rest of my roles are properly geared.

Once I finish getting those last remaining crafters to 90, I'll probably work on Fisher next since it's my only gatherer not maxed out.

That's about all that keeps me playing at this point. Maybe once I get done with that, I'll just start looking into ways to improve my crafter gear and delve harder into the money-making game.

I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that there's plenty of ways to keep yourself busy without doing hardcore content. Maybe I'll probably look into finishing my 50-100 solo POTD run. And then see about actually completing HoH. And whatever the new dungeon that just came out is after that.
 
Most of what I've been doing lately is preparing my crafters for the 6.4 raid tier. I don't want to spend entire afternoons actively farming for white scrips so since I have plenty of time left anyway I've been doing weekly custom deliveries and keeping up with my island in order to casually gather resources to buy materia for pentamelding. Aside from that my FC has been organising little events like themed seasonal glam contests, blue mage spell gathering events and mount farming sessions.
 
Meanwhile I'm struggling to find a group to run the new deep dungeon with. Haven't touched it since it came out and that tiger mount is pretty sick.
 
Sorry for the double post but I just have to say that the truly degenerate and sex crazed corner of twitter for FFXIV is probably THE most cursed fucking thing I have ever seen and I seen some shit.

It's also egregiously weird how often folks post those "cum tributes" to their stuff. Like, is there anyone who actually finds it hot when some creepy fuck posts their grody-ass nut on their phone screen/tablet?

I've been playing Astrologian these past couple of months for 90 and Expert roulette and I'm amazed by how bad players can make these pretty easy dungeons utter hell sometimes. Lately I've had The Dead Ends often for my daily 90 roulette and its a coin flip that I will either get mouth breathing Limsa AFKers who are hunting for the Starbird minion or semi-competent players.

Runs include any of the following: Tanks typically only using their big mits for bosses (or forgetting about it entirely), tanks standing in trash AoEs due to laziness, people stacking vulnerability debuffs/getting doomed every time, DPS standing in the black goop in area 1 and somehow not realizing they are losing 10k HP/tick, DPS not AoEing, etc. No matter how good you are at healer, you can't outheal extreme stupidity. Especially when you are MP starved from multiple res's due to DPS dying to raid wide damage with vulnerability stacks and Super Ether is already on its 5 minute C/D.

I've pretty much stopped playing healer for any content that involves 2 healers. Too many times I'll end up having to solo heal because my co-healer is snoozing, drunk, stoned or just mentally retarded.


As for Dungeon LBs, if there's a caster/ranged player, I'll just ask them before the next trash pull to use it since 90% of the time LB either goes unused or the melee player saves it for the absolute last second and the boss dies before the damage even registers. Thankfully I've yet to encounter one of those players who get upset with this usage of LB.
