I am likely blind and missed something in the MSQ since I phoned it in after I realised Garlemald was the peak of this xpac, but I feel like any other ass pull could have served the same purpose as him in EW.That section of the fanbase is now on suicide watch, that was probably one of the most discussed things after EW ended and their was so much cope posting about it.
I liked him at the last few hours of his existence. Every other point was pretty bad and I'd overall say he is a waste of space given how much the story tries to focus on him, but those last couple hours to me were interesting.I am likely blind and missed something in the MSQ since I phoned it in after I realised Garlemald was the peak of this xpac, but I feel like any other ass pull could have served the same purpose as him in EW.
Good riddance and I hope we get some quality tears from them.
I dunno why people even though otherwise, well outside of just wanting to see more of their husbando, considering there is literally nowhere else they can take his character arc at this point. It doesn't make sense for him to get an actual redemption arc cause he's a brokebrain schizo and a deliberate mirror of the WoL, so it seems fitting that in the end he only helped us to serve his own needs and then died realising that the satisfaction he was looking for was only fleeting and he would've ended up unhappy again no matter what the outcome of the final battle was.
Because this game cheats death so often its become a joke, so really they can justify it if they want to and his character imo is kind of shit 90% of the time until the literal end of his now closed arc. So at least cheating death gives him a chance to be decent to good like 80% of the time he's on screen throughout the game, which would be a 100% overall improvement. Sort of like how the Ascians were prior to 5.0 where they were probably as boring if not more so.I dunno why people even though otherwise

Zenos could have died in SB and had the same finality to his life that he more or less got in EW's ending, he lost to the WoL and found a moment of bliss in that final moment that he cared about. His character arc could have ended in SB and for the majority of his development it'd be basically the same. In EW, Zenos loses to the WoL and found a moment of bliss with some character development at the last minute where he sort of gives a shit about what the WoL cares about. It is too repetitive that ending it just feels like everything from 4.0 > 6.0 involving Zenos is just the writers trying to force 5.4-6.0's plot to happen and kill Varis off.
I think Zenos being forced to live with his shitty decisions, all the aftermath of what he did, and being forced to change because he can't just keep dying infinitely to the WoL (as we can probably just use white auracite or something to seal him) leaves room for a character arc. And by change I don't mean just be a hero and repent in some cookie cutter redemption arc where he feels bad and wants to make up for it, I mean find something else to fill the void. Be an adventurer, a bodyguard, be a farmer, be literally anything else and find something to care about that isn't muh hunt.
He could literally walk the WoL's path as an adventurer and can be used as a true reflection for the WoL instead of the RL player specifically, as I find the WoL mirror thing to be really weak beyond "They both really strong and fight a lot". Considering the WoL can't speak really, using Zenos as a surrogate to the WoL's journey to show can be interesting and worth all the bullshit from SB-ShB.
Also Scion Zenos would be the funniest shit, the amount of comedic awkwardness will be forever denied if he stays dead. Fuck you Ishikawa for denying me such potential.
So this is why I've seen so many trannies and fujos cry about Zenos on twitter lately.s far as story concerns go, they've answered one of the biggest speculations of EW's ending by stating that they have no intentions of bringing Zenos back at all, they feel his ending is good where it is.
Those last few hours actually has Zenos being a character that acts pro-actively and does something. Throughout the rest of Endwalker, I definitely felt like he was playing second fiddle to Fandaniel. Towards the end is when he actually starts doing something.I liked him at the last few hours of his existence. They outright stated that PS4 support will likely continue in 7.0 as the graphical changes they're working on right now aren't intended to increase system requirements but instead optimize the graphics engine.>PS4 support is still being maintained at this time. Don't hold your breath for it going into 7.0 and later, however.
They said it does not necessarily mean PS4 support will be dropped in 7.0, but that's still highly uncertain language. There's nothing wrong with advising a word of caution about expecting PS4 support going forward. They outright stated that PS4 support will likely continue in 7.0 as the graphical changes they're working on right now aren't intended to increase system requirements but instead optimize the graphics engine.
I would not expect PS4 support to be discontinued until the 8.x series at the earliest. FFXI famously did not end support for PS2 until 2016 and that was only because the PS2's network hardware simply could not support modern networking protocols. And even then, there was still a minor kerfuffle in Japan about them shutting down PS2 support in 2016.
He just sort of worked at the end. I checked out towards the end of the final area because things get contrived, silly and stupid. Those last few hours actually has Zenos being a character that acts pro-actively and does something. I like how Zenos has a super simple motivation and how he works as a direct opposite to the WoL as a character who simply fights for himself and for no other reason than the fight itself.
Personally, I would love it if they made him more active. Like have him do stuff deliberately just to stoke the WoL's rage. His goal fundimentally is to create a strong opponent, and then face off against them. And it would be interesting to see him go to extremes just to make his foe stronger and more willing to fight him. Creating an opponent that will inevitably defeat him.
And for the Zenos fans who desperately wanted him to live. You honestly could have had that with a Zenos who ends up somewhat aligned with the protagonist for the sole purpose of one day fighting him again. I don't think Zenos would ever become a scion, but I could see him as a side-character who happens to assist them, much to their chagrain.
I wouldn't mind that as long as his character evolves a lot in his return in some way. His bit at the end was quite interesting where he posed the question of whether the two of them are really that different. Perhaps both the WoL and Zenos both just live to fight, but one of them has found moral justification to allow them to do so. Maybe even making the WoL question, well, what happens when there's no more fighting to be done? What then?Nobody stays dead in an MMO. Don't be shocked if Zenos shows up again 3 expansions later
I like Koji, but he can be a bit "look how funny these memes are guys" with his translations. I think think having some others to tone it down a bit is a good direction.
This asexual pronoun bio retweeting about how capitalism is evil is taking over Koji's role in translation. She translated stuff at a fanfest before.
Seeing people like this being involved in the game makes me worried about the game long term.
So far, she's okay-ish translating the recent live letter

ETA: OH I'm a dumbass, I completely misread, I thought it was just a twitter person complaining about someone taking over Koji's role, not that THEY THEMSELVES are. Yikes.
She looks like this. I didn't watch the entire live letter.Isn't the dangerhair that appeared in the last live letter's second half?
I sure hope so. Whenever I've seen this crowd get close to any hobby or property I was interested in, they tended to fuck it straight into the dirt.I'm optimistic about the translator because she already has a proven track-record with translating Shadowbringers and Koji is still around to tard wrangle her. Also, she's on a first name basis with Ishikawa so I get the impression that she doesn't want to fuck around too much with the localization.
