Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

People head canon fucking anyone and anything as gay in this game in my experience, so to me it just blurs into one big "everyone is actually gay" mesh that I don't even keep track. People think Aymeric and Hien are at least bi because they come off as overly friendly to the WoL, Y'shtola likes Lyse, Thancred and Urianger are two dads, and I don't even need to go into Haurchefant.

I think the only "accepted" heterosexual relationship I can think of is Raubahn and Namano.
Which is ironic, as I feel that's meant to be more a surrogate father/daughter one than a lovers one.

You have a crossover fanbase of video game addicts/anime fans/and trannies, it's small wonder that they are incredibly emotionally immature and unable to perceive close relationships as anything other than sexual in their coombrains.

It almost makes me sad that they've clearly never had a true friend like that, but then I remember how annoying they are and the feeling floats away.

I know it's a cliche too. But I also think there's plenty of people who are on the more "woke" side who are extremely vocal and will constantly find a non-straight ship wherever they can.

To the point that I actually have this theory that a lot of the "woke" crowd are so obsessed in inserting it wherever they can, that it's actually just because they find it hot and have found an excuse to constantly obsess over their fetish with others. I know of someone who hardcore believes that Emannalien and another side-character are canonically gay because there was a joke of Emannalien going "Ishgard is great, we helped out here" and the other character went "Like shit you did!" three times in the latest expansion.

Like each to their own. Believe whatever you want to believe. But it's weird as fuck to go "yeh they're fucking" just because two characters spoke one time.

Don't even get me started on the Ryne and Gaia shipping... 🙄
to be fair on that one, they do have a scene at the end that's a direct rip of a scene of two lovers from ff8. It's not like they were being subtle.

note: not being subtle does not mean that the plot had enough time to develop. really, that's the plot that should have had interquel quests between each section, not yorha.

That is true and I did forget about that, I try to block Eden raid from memory, they didn't reference any of the cool things I was hoping they would from the game. :'(

The Sadu-Cirina thing is relatively recent, most of the alphabet 'tism I've seen is more around the angle that Sadu & the Dotharl are all enbies/trans because of their views on reincarnation. Sadu's a great character but it gets tiring every time she shows up with the rush of "diD yUO kNoW" comments, and it's not like she actually insists she's a man.

Jesus christ that's a reach on their part. I actually didn't know that's what people thought lol.

Also as woke as this sounds. It also sounds like it'd be really offensive towards buddhists and other such cultures which believe in reincarnation.

I mean, you're basically equating a giant part of their belief, one which requires some divine power or some bullshit to perpetuate a giant cycle of life, to having your cock chopped off and being given estrogen. Pretty sure that if you start calling buddhists trannies/enbies because of their reincarnation belief, you're gonna piss them off quite a bit.

If it makes you all feel better, just remember that the Dotharl are constantly on the verge of extinction because their entire existence makes them functionally suicidal battlemongers.

That and each person has a means to cut off the cycle of reincarnation, at least in terms of how their clan perceives it. Which 100% hard kills that person as far as the Dotharl are concerned. Which given information from Endwalker in how it talks about the aetherial sea reincarnation cycle, I wonder if their is a really depressing aspect to that or if it is solely just a tribal quirk at this point. We never were explained how Sadu can supposedly see her original people's souls to determine who they were.

Also as woke as this sounds. It also sounds like it'd be really offensive towards buddhists and other such cultures which believe in reincarnation.
Or just the actually reincarnation cycle that exists in the world itself. We don't even need to bring buddhism into this conversation. The thing about the Xaela tribes is they have this sort of backwater, yet still about half way understanding of how the world works on a deeper level. The Dotharl have rightfully determined by coincidence that all life returns to the aetherial sea, and thus becomes new life which creates a perpetual cycle of reincarnation that even ties everything across time and space even given the events from Shadowbringers. The only new thing they've added is that those who are reincarnated are given their original name and not a new name, and that their leader can somehow (bullshit or otherwise) determine who their original self was.

You can add all the woke-ism elements to the actual reincarnation and just say literally everyone is trans or whatever if that is your logic.

Ryne and Gaia though are just fucking weird, the community around them has completely warped any sort of good nature that relationship has and turned it into a very creepy subsection that I never want to be involved with. Even Yoshi-P had to publicly cut some of that shit out because if it became big enough, the game would have to actually be rated M in Japan iirc due to how stupid the rating system is there.

I remember that when the final tier of Eden released and people saw the rainbow crystal, everyone was screaming about pride and using that as like some kind of confirmation that Ryne and Gaia were lesbian lovers, completely ignoring the fact that a rainbow crystal just means that all the elements are in perfect balance.

The concept of platonic relationships is non existent to them. They have shipper brainrot.

Sort of, I find alphabet soup like Miqo'te or Viera more. Au ras tend to be liked if you want a really smol waifu. Au ra men for some reason are associated with discord groomers in general.
I would figure that would be Hrothgar or something.
All I know is Hien is viewed as a evil man for what he does to the Xaela for the dumbest of reasons, for some reason Hien is probably the most hated and evil nation leader in this entire game and I really don't understand why. I swear he's almost more hated then Lolorito.
...what? I assume there's something coming, or it's just referring to that whole Ovoo thing that I can't recall the name of at the moment.

Once again, the fans of this game surprise me with their retardation.

I figured the statement was more referring to whether people headcanon Sadu as a lesbian, to which the answer is a resounding yes.

Nah, it was the whole "I was born a man but now I'm a woman," shite that you explore while learning about them. I was getting "I-it's not like I LIKE YOU or anything" anime trope vibes from her and the Sun leader dude, but that's probably wrong.

Yeah, this exactly. I had a feeling these folks would latch onto this and (probably) misinterpret what was going on because it fits their gender special BS.

So working through Stormblood and am on the Azim Steppe.

Is it safe to assume that the Alphabet Soup Sex Pests have glommed onto the blue skinned Au Ra for, uh, obvious reasons?
I assume the sex pest affinity for malera are because they look like edgy dragon dudes (read: furries and scalies love them). Hrothgar have the same reputation for being degenerate groomers but since they came with Shadowbringers there's less of them running around.

Don't even get me started on the Ryne and Gaia shipping... 🙄
To be fair...

I assume we're talking about the Naadam event where all the tribes fight. That is one of two reasons, the other shows up in the patches and is a bit more questionable but I still don't think it makes Hien literally Hitler.

Basically the Naadam thing is because Hien took advantage of the Xaela's traditions for his own needs, even though the Xaela are literal neighbors to Doma, have to care about Garlean occupation, and they're battle hardened people who aren't exactly shy of fighting even the nice girl Cirina doesn't shy away from conflict. So I truly don't see what the big problem is, but you know people gotta bitch about something.

I also once had some retard try to explain to me that Hien abandoned his people because he didn't try to immediately lead a pointless rebellion and kill himself when he was 14 or something after his father died. That him choosing to instead be patient and lay low in the Azim Steppe while he grew up makes him a coward. But this complaint was unique to this specific retarded individual.

That's stupid. Are things now allowed to be rainbow colored without it always being associated with gay shit? Just because something is rainbow colored doesn't automatically make it gay no matter what some idiot says to try to convince us that it is. The rainbow crystal is meant to show equilibrium between all the elements in the area, not to be a giant gay pride flag.

I skipped just about every single eden cutscene after Gaia became the main focus, around when Thancred / Urianger left. I feel this generally improved the Eden experience.

If only you could skip the long, annoying segment at the end of Shiva or the entire middle section of E12. What a boring, annoying character.

Yeah, the Nadaam. I could see your typical XIV moron whining about that, but dude was just working within the rules of the society he was in.

Lizard dudes like to fight, they don't mind going to fight the Empire but want a valid reason. Near as I can tell it breaks down to:

The Mol: Gods said we're supposed to do this, so idk, whatever.
The Doth: Fuck around and find out
The yellow/green tribes whose names I can't recall: Well, you're in charge now, so that's cool.

Add to that the Empire comes storming in and tries to slaughter everyone, thus giving all the tribes a reason to be personally pissed off with them.

And this shit with Hien is hilarious. He literally tells you in a cutscene he was in the womb when Doma fell and has never known a free Doma. There's a reason why he fucked off.

He comes off as a real insightful, intelligent and forward-thinking type of character. The kind of person I think the devs want Alphinaud to be, but Hien has a bunch of humility and maturity that isn't present with Alphinaud. (Yes, I get that Alphi is the spoiled rich kid stereotype and Hien isn't so there's going to be characterization differences, but Hien's intelligence and insight comes off far more convincing than Alphi's self-fellations.)

The way I see it, Hien played by their rules, he runs things (well WoL does but same thing), and everyone effectively honors their informal contract and morals in the end. So no harm no foul, Xaela are warrior people so fighting is in their nature. One of the pvp battle fields is in the Azim Steppe and the lore description in it effectively says "Xaela are too battle hungry to wait for the next Naadam, so they hold lesser contests to satisfy their battle hungry nature". So Xaela just like fighting, even someone as seemingly innocent as Cirina is something of a battle hungry warrior, Sadu is crazy, and Magnai is alpha sigma chad sun emperor with big rock axe. As an aside, Oronir is yellow and Buduga are green, yellow effectively took the green as vassals when they wrecked their shit. Oronir's whole game is kidnapping other people's tribes men and women to add to their strength, that's why they assault you before and after Bardem's Mettle,

Hien is a generally good dude that is willing to do some sometimes marginally questionable things if he sees it as personally justified, and he really leans in the WoL to do things though he isn't a helpless bystander either. He's a seemingly perfect dude who doesn't come off as obnoxiously perfect that characters like Hien I find tend to occupy. I find on the "good boy" scale Aymeric beats Hien by a notable margin but it is subdued by Hien being generally friendly and respectful most the time so he doesn't come off as an ass.

He has a touch of "boy-ish" ness but he really holds it in. You can really see it with his interactions with Gosetsu especially that Hien is something of a child at heart that is sort of taking the lead by necessity more than anything. Their is a role quest line in Endwalker that really touches upon Hien's personal baggage and made me actually feel deeply sorry for him beyond "Oh hey your home got liberated, that sucks," that about every non antagonist Stormblood character has.
