Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Should I bother doing this anima weapon quest I just unlocked post-Heavensward or should I skip it?
Not really. It's the Heavensward relic questline. You can power through it in ~3 hours now if you have a character at level cap and geared. At-level takes significantly longer.

I've only just started it a few nights back in PF, but I've heard the rumours about P3S. Allegedly a static-destroyed.

And I'm the stupid fuck going in with PF, where you can't be sure if your teammate is an expert triple-legend raider or a pleb who doesn't even know that they can weave an OGCD.
With PF, it's the quick and the dead. I'm PF too, actually.

You're best off starting as early as possible in the patch cycle, as literally every day the best available will move from “a2c” to “reclear”.

Live letter event on the 18th.

Hopefully we're going to be looking at DRK and WHM changes. DRK has basically no sustain right now and feels like absolute trash in a dungeon with the amount of healer support they need. And WHM is in a really bad place right now with it's shitty MP economy, healing lillies being way less useful now Glare is a 1.5s cast, and blood lily not dealing enough damage to make up for the four GCDs required to get it.

tbf Afflatus Misery was always a loss, just now it is a loss of 40 more potency then it was in ShB which in the grander scheme of things isn't much.

The lily system in general is kind of bunk because the best way to use your lilies is to have the boss fucks off for a mechanic, and then slam them as much as possible when it isn't targetable. Do this once and Afflatus Misery is an overall gain. This shouldn't be this way, but it is and it is dumb.

I personally think AST is worse because redraw is fucking trash and Lord of Crowns rng is dumb, as long as WHM doesn't die its about as playable as any other time pretty much besides Lilybell being garbage.

Unless you like having the weapon(s) for glamor purposes or a minion you unlock about halfway into it, it's really not worth it. While the majority of steps in the questline are short and easy to do if you're swimming in poetics or GC seals to buy the stuff you need for it and got a steady source for them, you also have to slug through 13 dungeons in total, farm light points which is commonly best done by repeatedly running a specific savage-difficulty fight in the Alexander raid series unsynched with a few other people willing to help, and then do a good chunk of the normal-difficulty trial fights from ARR and HW for the final step.

The instanced duty content steps can all be mostly done solo unsynched, but I'd do it more as a side project if you really want to get aforementioned weapon glam/minion, or see Gerolt get screwed over, otherwise skip it.

(At least it's less tedious than doing the full ARR relic weapon done up to Zeta).

I think the bigger question I have for the upcoming live-letter is what the long-term trajectory of the game is going to be. Yoshi-P said to expect 'big changes' so I almost feel like we're going to see some major gameplay system overhauls.

Tbf if you have dyslexia or English isn't your first language, I could see someone being very confused by all the weird ye olde English flourishes that are used in this game especially Urianger speech. "Pray return to the waking sands..." is a very weird statement if you take "Pray" too literally trying to cross reference it to your original language, and the spellings can be really weird sometimes. The JP script I know is much more direct in what it tries to convey, while the EN script's intent can be sometimes obfuscated by more flowery and harder to read language. One of the biggest examples is the meeting with Midgardsormr in 2.5, the translated JP script is really boring to read by comparison but the intent is much more obvious.

Then again I'm positive that only is like 20% at best of the people bitching about getting filtered by the script because of understandable circumstances, and the remaining 80% are probably Americans who basically want a picture book or can only read at a 5th grade level max.

Remember kids, Garleans did everything wrong and are whiny toddler babies in EW, the game told me so!

ESLs who find the English script confusing can be excused. But if you're a native English speaker, raised in anglophone culture, and exposed to English literature as part of your mandatory schooling, then there is no excuse unless you're literally a child.

But more importantly, it's funny as a general dunk on the intelligence of Vaush's fanbase.
I worked out that 'anon' meant 'soon' despite never hearing it like that in any context. Makes me wonder if these same people were also GoT fans where it did something similar.

The bigger issue is how the changes to healers meant that lillies lost a lot of use.

When Glare was a 2.5s cast, lillies were your best ways to create weave windows for OGCDs and to move around. Using lillies effectively meant that it didn't feel like a DPS loss. You're going to be moving to avoid a mechanic so why not chuck out a lily heal then run?

Reducing the cast time of Glare to 1.5s means you don't need to use lillies for those weave windows now since every GCD gives you a weave, and you also get 1s worth of movement per GCD (a little more if you're decent at slidecasting), meaning the movement perk is severely diminished too.

Because so much of that value is now removed from lillies, the DPS loss is now a far more bitter pill to swallow.

He's gonna talk about the Island Sanctuary, hopefully it isn't as shit as the garrisons in wow.
They'd have to fuck up really badly to make it as bad as garrisons. At one point you could just outright get current Mythic raid gear from them.

The best way to weave Assize for damage was to align with Dia which you could do every other time more or less. While Lilies did lose that use for every other Assize, determining if it was worth it to weave with lily varied by lag and double vs single weaves, sometimes just eating the clip was still the best way because you're trading about 100-150~ potency (varies by your lag on the dps loss for clipping) to not clip your gcd with assize every 45~ seconds. But you gain similar potency every time to use lily during an intermission phase, so if an intermission is coming you should clip that gcd which was awful and I'm glad they fixed the clipping issue.

The absolute best way to use lilies was always when you could use 1-3 of them for "free" unless you absolutely needed the healing somewhere. So during phases like the fog part in E11S, slamming lilies there was your best option if you could get them to proc. Every other use for lily was secondary and more a QoL for how crappy weaving was as a non-Ast then the best way to use the ability, which outside of prog or with spaghetti PFs makes the lily system really shit.

Then you realize you didn't have to do literally any of this if you play Ast, you just get the best weave windows of the 3 ShB healers and that's when you realize ShB Whm is a janky mess despite being the most unga bunga of the healers. Lilies need a revamp to make using them in combat worth it either by adjusting healing needed in fights (:story:) or adding some other ability or system to make this idiotic "just slam lilies when boss doesn't exist" play style die, or at least be neutral with using them in-combat.

Without outright changing the system I personally think having any ability that makes it so casting a lily provides a damage and healing buff for some amount of time is the solution. This way if you lily heal and turret for the duration of the buff you either make up for the lost potency or even make it a gain with raid buff alignment and using Misery during this hypothetical buff.

A little bit, but the problem is that the other guy is an infinitely more memeable character.
Which is shame because I like Sadu as a character because she's the quintessential wacky crazy "fight me bro" anime character. That said, her interactions with Magnai is great.

So working through Stormblood and am on the Azim Steppe.

Is it safe to assume that the Alphabet Soup Sex Pests have glommed onto the blue skinned Au Ra for, uh, obvious reasons?
Sort of, I find alphabet soup like Miqo'te or Viera more. Au ras tend to be liked if you want a really smol waifu. Au ra men for some reason are associated with discord groomers in general.

Azim Steppe is generally the best part of 4.0 by most people, and I'd agree. What they do in about 3-4 hours is more set up for this place and its people becomes more satisfying then Ala Mhigo gets with more then triple the screentime. Xaela just have a interesting multifaceted nomadic culture with some interesting parallels to how we see the world's rules, such as their belief in the reincarnation aetherial sea cycle.

All I know is Hien is viewed as a evil man for what he does to the Xaela for the dumbest of reasons, for some reason Hien is probably the most hated and evil nation leader in this entire game and I really don't understand why. I swear he's almost more hated then Lolorito.

I figured the statement was more referring to whether people headcanon Sadu as a lesbian, to which the answer is a resounding yes.
People head canon fucking anyone and anything as gay in this game in my experience, so to me it just blurs into one big "everyone is actually gay" mesh that I don't even keep track. People think Aymeric and Hien are at least bi because they come off as overly friendly to the WoL, Y'shtola likes Lyse, Thancred and Urianger are two dads, and I don't even need to go into Haurchefant.

I think the only "accepted" heterosexual relationship I can think of is Raubahn and Namano.
