Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Now that the dust is settling and most people willing to brave the lines have caught up with the story, I think my eyelashes might tattoo their imprint on my brow bones from the VENAT IS AN ABYOOZER opinion that some of the community is deciding to go with. I struggle to think of any decision that any character in a leadership position has taken in fiction that hasn't been called ABYOOSE in the last 20 years.
We've even had a poster or two ITT who's complained about that as well.

I'm letting my confirmation bias take over and continuing to chalk it up to more proof that, even when XIV blatantly shoves the context of its own story in the player's face, nobody actually pays attention to it and they just react to whatever's immediately in front of them with hardly any forethought or regard to anything that happens before or after any given moment.

I'm at least tickled by the irony that this is all regarding a plot with theming that involves impulsively, shortsightedly, and childishly reacting to things instead of putting on your big boy pants and dealing with things as they are.

i remember reading early descriptions and finding out Hydaelin was a trial boss, i wondered if they were gonna pull of yet another "seemingly benevolent guide of the chosen one is EEVIILL REEEE" twist, but when i found out it was just a test i was pleasantly suprised, and Venat's final walk was a really cool moment

It probably doesn't account for all of them, but I think there's a certain subset of the community that is just determined to hate her no matter what because they're Emet simps.

But the fucking Elpis arc showed us that she was more or less on friendly terms with Emet... Or about as friendly as you can get with a well-intentioned yet perpetual naysayer/skeptic.

The crafter grind begins. I got my all of my level 90 DoH/DoL gear crafted and have pentamelded all of my crafter accessories so far. Should be done early next week with my tools and armor.

Looking forward to making fat stacks off the hordes of late-ShB WoWfugees looking for easy raid gear.

And there sure are a ton. I got more applications this tier, for one position in my static, than I got for all open positions in the past.
If you're gonna get rich crafting now, post-crafting rework? Now is the time.

Well, I made it to 33 PUG, ~20 FSH, MIN, BTN, and GSM in just about three days, so I think I'm going to be able to complete my goal of finishing ARR before mid-January. This is the furthest I've made it since the game launched.
I'm starting to get bored now. The fetch quests between the major plot scenes are killing me. Again, I wouldn't hate them so much if the gameplay was actually challenging/stimulating, but it's level 25 content that I'm going through as level 40.

I'm still pushing through. It's the principle of the thing at this point.

Yeah, nobody’s gonna tell you that’s a good part of the quest chain. It starts getting better when you finally beat Tidus.

This is not photoshopped by the way.

Thinking about FF8, when will be get a proper rendition of Man With A Machine Gun as an orchestron scroll?

I know that the main hook of it has been peppered through out HW and some of the "Weapon" trials in ShB, but give me the real deal...

Insane ad placement aside, I know it's been talked to death that Asmongold is a character and if you watch his personal stuff he seems like a decent enough guy, and while I don't care for it to each his own. But I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone could enjoy this guy. I can't even begin to figure it out. He's just obnoxious and loud and there doesn't seem to be any kind of redeeming value. Even when we've made fun of guys like Pyromancer I still get what somebody might find fun or interesting about watching him or Asmongold or plenty of streamers, but what is there to enjoy about Rich Campbell yelling over a video game for hours on end? Is this just people using streaming as a friend simulator going out of control or something?

spill the tea on your recruitment pool
I'm not sure what to say except that the majority have basically 0 experience. Most seem to have started late ShB, played a healer for all of 2 weeks and now think they're ready to hop into Savage w/ a group whose ad specifies "experience required".
Some few others do have savage experience, but they either didn't play the role we're looking for, or just dabbled in the easy fights. Not a single one has cleared E12S, with or without echo.

The long and short of it is that while they've all been really nice, it'd be a nightmare giving any one of them spot lol..

Última edición:
My group almost has the opposite problem. Half of us are very experienced healers, but we're also telling our static leader that if you make me cast Glare a million times heal one more expansion I will shoot blood out my eyes so curse two of our former DPS players with that shit.

Ah, you guys are midcore, I'm assuming. I mained a healer since 2.0, pugged Twintania on content, cleared E1-E11s last expansion on-content and finally burned out midway through prog on E12s. Would have tossed you a PM about an app, but fuck healing, and fuck hard content in this game. It's cool and all, but I'm just done with it for a while.

Yeah, E12S is where I washed out too. I could actually do pretty much all of phase one without any trouble but the sliding ice shit felt impossible to get consistent on a controller for me, so I basically quit savage entirely. I'm probably going to PF this tier though, because I really want to get over my healxiety and I need to actually throw myself out there on at least a few of the hard fights.
