Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Yeah, but that's just civilized society in general - people acting cordial in public regardless of how they actually feel because there's a decorum to preserve. In contrast, a lot of MMO playerbases just devolve into slur-screeching apes at the drop of the hat and it gets tiresome to deal with after a while.

I'd rather have fake and gay than some euro welfare sperg having a meltie and disbanding because the rogue fat fingered their stealth key and pulled slightly early in a heroic dungeon.
I'd rather not have either, truth be told. Both irritate me just as much, but that's just my own sensibilities.

I spend most of my time in pubbie content (leveling dungeons, expert dungeons, 24 mans, normal raids, Eureka/Bozja), I do extreme content when it's new but it doesn't take long to run out of reasons to keep doing it, I haven't done any savage content since Ghost Train

most of the time if you just start cracking jokes and acting like a complete goon ass you can get most of the group laughing and joking along with you

one time while I was waiting for a Lacus Litore pop I got a bunch of people in Bozja to sing the He-Man HEEEEEYEYYEYYEYUH meme song with me
See, I like fun shit, and I enjoy occasionally shitposting, but in my experience, you try to make dumb jokes and someone else tries to one up you with some really outlandish "lol so randumb XD" non-sequitur that people find more enjoyable, or people get really fucking snippy, or people just don't fucking respond.

And then there's times where you just really don't feel like shooting the shit and you just want to get shit done.

I still envy people like you who only ever mostly have amiable experiences with randos.

Most people I've met use friendliness to act like a passive aggressive cunt. Or they act nice up front but talk shit behind everyone's backs. And that's amid maybe the couple of people who have the stones to pitch a shitfit at the party for not playing EXACTLY perfectly.
Come to moogle. Most are nice, and the The french are merely incompetent instead of malicious.

7) Expect another Raubahn Extreme/Pipin Extreme/any other solo instanced content getting completely locked out and all MSQ progression being halted due to congestion.
There will be some but it won't be as bad as those. The first time there was an actual instanced content in SHB I'm pretty sure was by 71 and after the first dungeon I think.

They've learned some things at least.

Personal experience is that toxic playerbases get brought on by how tedious the game becomes. League is only as toxic as it is because of how much one sub optimal player can turn a match into 40 minutes of hell. Had matches been shorter, or individual player impact lower it would not be nearly as bad.

WoW became incredibly toxic as the grind required to keep up with endgame content became more and more tedious. As they introduced systems like mythic+ where wiping once meant the whole run was ruined, where every raid and dungeon ended with a RNG lootbox that more often than not would turn 30 minutes of playtime into wasted time.

Imagine how toxic FF14 would become if Palace of the Dead became necessary for best in slot gear. If at the end of an hour of samey corridors it all ended with a RNG loot mechanic that is designed to keep you subscribed for as long as possible.

FF14 is fun because it rarely demands you to no life shit to get some progress, it's not designed for keeping you playing for as long as possible. If FF14 was like wow every gear piece would require a relic grind to achieve BiS

WoW gear grinds would be like that step of the current relic where you farm alliance raids 30 something times to unlock the stat allocator, except the stat allocation at the end would be completely RNG and if you wanted to reroll you'd have to repeat the grind.

People who play only FF14 don't really understand how straightforward and chill the grinds are in this game. Even the long ones are usually only done once and you can choose from a large variety of content and nothing is really timegated.

I'm just leveling other jobs right now, I haven't touched any of the tanks but honestly really don't feel like it atm. Got bard to 80, so my classes at cap are black mage, summoner bard, scholar, samurai, red mage, white mage and ninja.

Should I do dancer next or machinist? Maybe AST? I think bluemage is really cool but I've neglected it a lot and aren't a lot of the spells in old raids?

You can get banned if you say boobs in public chat and someone is enough of a prude to report you. That's mostly why there's public decorum.

I don't do relic grinds anymore in FF14. Bozja was as fun as watching paint dry. HP sponge fates and redoing old content for mcguffins to upgrade your weapon. There were just more fun games I could play at the time.

I just wish they'd make expert roulette better. Grinding the same 2 dungeons to get your weekly tomes gets old.

Dancer is an "easy to play, hard to optimize" DPS and starts at level 60 so you can hit the ground running with it and get to cap quickly. Very fun and brings a lot of flexibility and mobility in fights. If you know bard, then dancer will be easy to pick up for leveling and casual play (high-end optimization is trickier and there's an entire dancetranny rabbit hole to traverse).

Machinist is... Well it's not particularly complicated to understand but the baseline level of competence to do acceptable damage is higher than dancer and it's very punishing to play if you have significant latency problems. However, you deal much more damage and it can feel very satisfying to play with its chunkier animations. Zero utility outside of the same raidwide mitigation bard and dancer get so if you're some kind of fag who likes raid cooldowns and sucking dick instead of big numbers, you probably won't like machinist.

Astrologian is probably the most cursed healer for leveling. It's perfectly fine and even meta for 8-man content but it can struggle in dungeons (esp if you're not overgearing them). Since you have the other two healers leveled already, you'll probably be fine. Just keep in mind that AST doesn't have the emergency big burst heals of WHM (Benediction, Afflatus Solace, Tetra, etc) or the bottomless sustain of SCH (Sacred Soil, Fairy Heals, Excog) so it can be feel a little busy in dungeons especially when you start juggling the cards around. Fun AF in boss fights though because malefic has such a short cast time and the cards definitely make you feel like a god choosing unworthy mortals to bless with big damage.

You can level Blue Mage to cap in like 10-20 hours just grinding overworld mobs at your level or 1-2 hours by getting someone to kill level 70 mobs after you tag them. The baseline set of spells you 'need' for blue mage can pretty much all be obtained from old dungeons, trials, or overworld mobs and you can get the skills even doing them unsynced (although the drop rate is much lower). I'd honestly check out a guide or something, because it's really more of a minigame and not something you should focus on capping like a normal DoW/DoM job.

somewhat, but the aviliabilty and lowish CD of Essential Dignity (40s) coupled with its low health healing boost makes it a decent bursty heal, not on par with bene but you can fucking spam it, later on when you hit 60 can you can use collective unconcious for a sec and that gives off great heals if your party is within in for a tick, and celestial opposition can be spammed every 60 secs decently too, you def can emergency heal with it to an extent, not as great as bene or WHM OGCds but it aint too shabby either, Synastry is also great since it gives a 40% plus boost on GCD heals

later on even earthly star is pretty great as both a chunky heal and a meh aoe, and arguably it has a better aoe than SCH if you use your lightspeed during big pulls since you dont have to dodge AoEs at melee range, but i am biased against SCH so im not the best nigga to tell you that

i geniuenly enjoyed dungeon AST even if it wasnt the meta, more than the later levels of SCH where it was kinda jank and excog was the only thing that kept me from not hating it as much as i did

I'm going to not be an absolute mongo and practice the new jobs on a dummy first and really learn them before going into any dungeon with them.

Mostly because I want to feel like hot shit who knows what she's doing next to the other reaper/sage bumbling around and randomly hitting buttons.

From what I've seen the main utility of blue mage is quicker FATE farming most of the time and right now there's moogle tomestone farming by speedrunning one of the bahamut coils with a team of blue mages, so it's pretty niche. Personally I've had so much stuff to catch up on before endwalker hits that it was hard to ever care about blue mage.

Going by the above posts then it seems like AST is up my alley then. What I'll do is get that to 80, then dragoon so I can get rid of extra healing stuff and get some reserve gear for maiming for reaper. I should level my retainers too.

Its also been said before but Albert Wesker's videos are a godsend. When I'm brand new to a class I want the basics/vital info and not Balance raiding autism. I really hope icyveins puts up class stuff soon too, noticed they had an FFXIV section now.

That's pretty much the only value for BLU outside of their specialized content: group up and run a train on lower level content. It can get annoying for everyone else thought. The yo-kai watch event had everyone bitching about BLUs coming in and nuking FATEs.

I leveled BLU to make relic farming easier since a group of them were making my life hard getting a hit in FATEs. If you can't beat em, join em. It's been a pretty fun class, as a largely solo player the carnival has been really enjoyable and challenging content for me.
