You're preaching to the long since converted. Although I will say a part of my old mindset was also partially caused by managing a Free Company full of do-nothing whiners, though. As in, the sort of people who sit around in FC Chat all night, bemoaning the fact that they actually had to do "harder" content to get certain drops/glamour and that it was "unfair" for things to be locked behind Savages. And the only reason these people wanted Savage gear is so that they could stand around hubs like Idyllshire, showing it off, and mingling with the rest of the "hardcore raider" crowd while everyone on the server gawks at how "awesome" they are. (Coeurl's social atmosphere was exactly like this at one point in time, I can attest from firsthand experience.)The removal of masochist tier grindfests isn't casualization. My ability or willingness to grind out X has no bearing on my ability to stay out of the bad or pull more dps than others. Casualization also isn't the removal of arbitrary positioning that was put into the game a literal decade ago when the fights weren't designed to have you running around incessantly or the boss to be moved/moving. If they really want positioning to stay, change True North to move the player behind the boss, like Rogues or Kitty druids in WoW; All the melee DPS jobs have lore that say they're able to do that.
Lol I relate to this shit strongly. I didn't run an FC but I helped manage shit and ran raid groups. I've watched people invite the more heavily casual sides - the types that should be mocked for being annoying faggots. It was the do nothing whiners like you mentioned, but these in particular kept screaming for savage carries from raiders for... well, pretty much the same reasons you mentioned. They wanted dat cool savage gear to look cool. Most of them were dps that would do substantially less than the damage of a competent tank. The funniest part was that once they got the clears, half of them just logged the fuck off shortly after waiting for the next patch. Most of this was due to some officers that got promoted that kept inviting worthless faggots like that more and more. They kept trying to form their own savage groups and they would fail so fucking hard every time, and go right back to not asking - but bitching and crying for help from the actual raiders in this big ass FC. And when I say help I mean carried, because telling people like this to learn their fucking job results in you getting flamed. You're preaching to the long since converted. Probably also worth noting that the people who complained the hardest couldn't even clear Normal mode versions of some Raid fights. Even as Tanks during fights where the Tank doesn't have to do anything else but tank and spank.
Thus, my definition for casualization included anything that made things that much more convenient for the literal do-nothings who felt they were entitled to every single thing the game had to offer. But, of course, through actually playing the changes for yourself, you realize how easy it is for YOU to get things YOU want now because the grindfest gets cut back, so you realize it's not such a bad thing after all. Even if you're surrounded by faggots who go "Yeah, but you didn't have to grind as much to get it like you did before, so it's not that great now."
Exodus was the 4chan server last I heard, so I think it's more a matter that you haven't been exposed to the faggotry and cancer yet.Got Gladiator to low 20’s yesterday and holy shit I always forget how rough some classes are early. At least Exodus seems to be less full of megaspergs than you’d expect. Am I wrong in that assumption or did I end up in one of the least cancerous servers by pure accident?
From what I've heard, it's everywhere. Some servers are worse than others. Regardless, just mind what you say in chat and fight any urge you have to shit talk someone, joking around or otherwise.Got Gladiator to low 20’s yesterday and holy shit I always forget how rough some classes are early. I’ve played for years, it’s just been a few months and I forgot how unpleasant the first parts of leveling were. From what I've heard, it's everywhere. Some servers are worse than others. And yes. Playing these jobs at super low levels is boring as fuck. When you get to 50 it isn't too bad.
I’d think that would lessen the effectExodus was the 4chan server last I heard, so I think it's more a matter that you haven't been exposed to the faggotry and cancer yet.
It's inevitable in almost any server you play on in my experience though.
What, because it was 4chan's home server at one point?I’d think that would lessen the effect
Exodus is really nice, can attest to that: seen sperging/uwuing once in a while in crowded areas. Lvling low classes as well at the moment and doing fates in Quarrymill, seems to be going fine.Got Gladiator to low 20’s yesterday and holy shit I always forget how rough some classes are early. I think a big part of it is that most of the really important parts of paladin’s toolset are locked behind the job crystal, which makes getting through deep dungeons and early lvling roulettes really unpleasant. BLM seems the same way. I know they’re all like this but it seems to hit some early lvls harder than others.Exodus is really nice, can attest to that: seen sperging/uwuing once in a while in crowded areas. The early toolkit is boring, but I want to see how it is further in before I decide on sticking with it or going back to DRK.Like what?
You get everything you need up to Level 15, which is when you'll run your first dungeon, these days: Basic bitch aggro combo, AoE, Tank stance, and your ranged pull. Which is a hell of a lot better than back in the day where you only got your first Tank stance along with your Job crystal at 30 after having leveled a secondary class so you could get your Job crystal in the first place.
The biggest problem I have, and always had, with Paladin is that your early toolkit is just so insufferably boring. You have nothing interesting to play with other than your bread and butter for so long. I seem to recall Lancer/Dragoon having the same problem as well for a while there where you really only had to press one button up until about Stone Vigil, but it looks like they got some much needed changes since the last time I played it.
did he have the legend titleI did a run of Delubrum when we had a savage raider who cleared savage and then proceeded to boss all of us around on this very casual run that people were just doing for their relic.
Imagine taking casual content this fucking seriously.
After looking at the job guide again, you honestly should have a good feel for the job by level 40. Nothing really changes until you hit level 70.The early toolkit is boring, but I want to see how it is further in before I decide on sticking with it or going back to DRK.
You guys make me thankful that years of DOTA and MapleStory made me an anti-social fuck in these MMOs, and I mentally filter out any sort of """community""" automatically. These fags sound like they need to be bullied harder IRL.You're preaching to the long since converted.
