You know, I think Marissa's mom might be a bigger factor in all this than I'd originally thought.

And in general fatties

The one of Marissa crying LITERALLY CRYING about her haters honestly made my tophat a little tight. You histrionic retard, shut up. You're gonna put yourself on a hugely popular app shrieking in your bra and panties, swinging your cottage cheese gunt around in circles and then be shook about people heckling you? Nigger whaaaaat?

Her and the other "fat people can't say nuffin without being shamed" crew are fake and gay. They revel in the hate, they roll around in it like pigs in shit. Save your obese tears you desperate cows, or just fuck off and stop making powerleveling your life's mission. Do young adults not understand that you don't have to put your entire life online?

Also, is Marissa a real prostitute? Like, SagittariusShawty levels of fatass ho? That would be great for this thread.

does she actually think that hospital beds in Canada and England have magical properties, it’s still costing several thousand dollars to keep you there, it’s just the sad saps who look after their weight who have to pay
Maybe try getting insurance and see if your weight time goes down

FYI 6 hours waiting time is a target in some NHS hospitals, and they usually miss those targets
Fat Retard

There was some ancient writer (Maybe Aristotle, possibly Lucian, potentially Plato, I can't remember) who said that the curved part between a woman's breast and her armpit was one of the most beautiful parts of her body because is accentuated the curves and softness of her body. I doubt he meant that having a whole extra set of cleavage flanking your tits was attractive, though.
Sounds like something Ovid would have written.
I was curious about what the ancients wrote about fat people, so I took a quick look through the Loeb Classical Library for mentions of "fat" or "obese" and came across some interesting selections (bolded the bits that stuck out):

From Hippocrates of Cos, Nature of Women:
If a woman is unnaturally obese, she will not become pregnant, since her omentum—being large and full—lies on top of and compresses her uterus, so that she cannot receive the male seed. You must make such a patient thinner by giving her a purgative medication to drink, and apply to her uterus a suppository which cleans it and puts air into it.

Celsus, On Medicine:
In addition thin people are fatigued by consumption, diarrhoea, running from the nose, pain in the lung and side. The obese, many of them, are throttled by acute diseases and difficult breathing; they die often suddenly, which rarely happens in a thinner person.

Athenaeus, The Learned Banqueters:
Many other people as well utterly ruined their bodies as a consequence of their inopportune indulgence in pleasure, some surrendering to obesity, others to a stupor resulting from their enormous self-indulgence. Nymphis of Heracleia, for example, says in Book XII of On Heracleia: Dionysius, the son of the Clearchus who was the first tyrant of Heracleia, also got control of his native land, and grew imperceptibly ever fatter as a consequence of his addiction to luxury and his overeating every day, with the result that he was so obese that he had difficulty breathing and choked. His physicians accordingly ordered him to have extremely long, thin needles made, and to have them stuck into his sides and his belly whenever he fell into too deep a sleep. As long as the needle was in a part of his body that had been deadened by the fat, he felt nothing; but once it passed through there and came in contact with an undamaged area, he woke up. When someone wanted to conduct business with him, he placed a box around his body, so that he could keep the rest of himself hidden, allowing him to speak with his visitors with only his head sticking out of the top. Menander—who is not much given to insulting people—mentions Dionysius in his Fishermen, offering the story on behalf of some exiles from Heracleia:
Because a fat pig was lying on its snout.
And again:
He lived in luxury, in a way that guaranteed he wouldn’t do so for long.
Furthermore:
wanting something peculiar—this seems to me to be the only good
way to die—to be fat and lie on your back, with an
Enormous gut, barely able to speak or breathe in and out,
eating and saying “I feel so good that I’m rotting.”
He died at age 55, having been tyrant for 33 years, and having been gentler and more reasonable than any of the tyrants who preceded him.

Galen, Method of Medicine:
At all events, it is one of the occupations of doctors, and by no means the most trivial, that whenever the body turns to obesity to such a degree that the person is neither able to walk without distress nor to sit on account of the mass of the belly, and is not able to breathe freely, to melt this away and get rid of it...It is timely for you now to give consideration to the treatment of these things, making a start from those [bodies] that have degenerated into excessive obesity...You have learned this matter in that treatise, but also no less in On the Preservation of Health that brisk exercise, a thinning diet, such medications, and anxieties of the soul represent a krasis that is, as a whole, hotter and drier, and because of this krasis, the body is thinner. Among exercises, very swift running is particularly suitable. The material of the thinning diet has been written about separately in one complete book. If people also require medications that are thinning, these were spoken about in the treatises on medications.

Basically, even in the ancient world they knew being fat derived from indulgence in food, caused women to become infertile, led to sudden death by diseases healthy people could abide, caused breathing and mobility problems, involved knowing that your body was rotting to death even though it felt good to keep eating, and that a doctor has a responsibility to treat obesity with dieting and brisk exercise—the best of which for weight loss is running.

Wow, it's almost like people have known forever that being fat was bad and could be treated with diets and exercise.

Great finds!

Being obese in the ancient world was a feat considering the lack of processed foods, but I think it's worth noting that the obese people in pain and distress mentioned in the passages would only be 'small fats' by today's standards. There was obviously no medical care of the same standard as we have now back then, so if you were a fatass and had heart problems or liver failure, you were almost certainly going to die. You imagine how many pain killers your average fatso is on for their various aches and pains, and then think about how painful it must have been to be 100lbs overweight without the luxuries of painkillers, supportive footwear, electric scooters, bariatric furniture or even consistently smooth, paved walkways.

A good deal of fat back then probably came from alcohol, which could be drunk diluted or undiluted (and possibly sweetened with honey). Greeks likes to drink a lot, and I would wager that alcohol contributed vastly to the deaths by illness of a great many apparently fit and healthy young men. (Alexander, for example, who probably had a weak liver and a compromised immune system due to his lifestyle).

On the Athenaeus- another case very similar to that of Dionysos was Demetrios Poliorcetes, who also died at 54 at the beginning of the 3rd century BC. Having lived a life of turbulent fortunes (with frequent hard partying), his luck finally ran out and he was captured at age 52 (or therabouts) and put under house arrest in a nice palace. Without any wars to fight or cities to rule, he spent two years sitting around boozing and eating and playing dice and being depressed before dying of illnesss (or suicide, depending on which historian you talk to).

I think this really underlines how deadly the lifestyle that we take for granted now is- this was a man who spent his entire life on horseback, eating 'good' non-processed food and getting out in the fresh air who dropped dead in comfort at 54 because he had done a lot of drinking in his downtime and then suddenly stopped doing any proper exercise. He probably wasn't even that fat when he died! Certainly not as fat as some of the people in this thread, yet without the benefit of modern medicine he died unusually young because this lifestyle is completely destructive. In comparison, his father lived into his eighties and died in battle. It wasn't a case of 'of people just died younger then!' it's a case of lifestyle being a far greater indicator of mortality than some people would have you think.

Fats who think they're negating the harm their disgusting bodies do by riding draught horses are fucking spastics.

Horses like them are bred to pull their strength is in their fucking chests, their backs are comparatively weak.

It's not just fatties. Horses can carry over a certain percentage of their weight only. If you're over that, size up horse or slim yourself down.

in pre modern society diabetes was poorly understood and untreatable, so developing it was basically a slow death sentence that cut your remaining life expectancy down by a lot.
like, look at all the hoops diabetics have to jump through in the current year just to keep themselves alive: regular blood sugar tests, insulin medication, rigorously watching your carb intake - none of that shit was known back in the day, so if you developed diabetes you had no fucking idea what was happening, you'd keep on living and eating like you always have, and drop dead pretty fucking quickly.

I'm specifically talking about the riled up woman responding to the comment about "death doesn't scare me, being fat does" here.
Fat activists are quite literally fueling the fear of becoming fatter, a lot of them humorously going on rants about how fat oppression is on par with racism, that thinness lets you have a privileged life, and that being overweight will cause you to be turned away from doctors.
So, they're not giving much reasons to benefit others into letting themselves go.

A lot of idiots in the US actually do believe that, lol. They think healthcare is "free" elsewhere, completely ignoring annual taxes that cost as much or more than many US insurance deductibles, and have no clue about strained and limited resources in other countries. They'd be appalled to know that you can't choose your GP in many parts of the world (or there is no available GP at all within hundreds of miles of a certain area, e.g., parts of Nova Scotia and the other Atlantic provinces) or that unacceptably long wait times and treatment denials are common. They also have no idea that people with means in places like Canada or the UK often choose to go private for care and end up paying out of pocket anyway, sometimes traveling to do so.

I think you're forgetting type one and two are different. Type one was always fatal and often in early childhood. Type two was often late onset and most people didnt live long enough.

The two have the same effect but are caused by totally different things

Exactly. There are so many things in the world that can kill you - illness, injury, violence, random accidents - keeping your body in good working order is literally the least you can do. I think people take for granted sometimes just how insulated we as modern people are from the reality of the world and how dangerous it is. If you were a born diabetic in ancient times you would just die young and there'd be nothing anyone could do about it.

I like to think that a good determiner of whether you are healthy or not is to imagine yourself stranded in a spartan cabin in the woods for a month with only the bare essentials for survival (canned food, matches, an oil lamp, some warm blankets). If you could not survive that, you are not healthy.

And if they really loved themselves the way they claim, it wouldn't be harassment. If you really love your body, are 100% accepting of it, and show it off because you are so confident and secure, how can "lol, fat" reduce you to tears?

@NoReturn posts a lot of videos I can't get mad at, and don't think are really that bad. I even find a few funny. It was a few pages back, but the "mind your business" tiktok about fat lady problems (when your gut falls out your pants) made me laugh. Sure, on some level I can get mad about being ok with obesity and living a life that leads to fatness. But honestly, I thought she was funny and that I was laughing with her. Where's her crying video about harassment? I'm guessing there isn't one, because she probably rolls her eyes at "lol, fat" and moves on with her day.

But Marrisa, Ash, Jude... the ones that are loudest about how they're so happy with themselves, are the ones most ready to flip out when someone calls them fat.

Just proves what these HAES/BoPo is really about- trying to convince the world to play along with their delusions. To convince us to convince them that they are happy, healthy, capable, and beautiful. That they are naturally fat and do not/cannot have any control (personal responsibility) over it. They don't believe this shit themselves. You can tell, because the moment someone doesn't play along, they crumble to pieces.

no, im talking specifically about type 2. you know, the kind that gigafats get at age 30 because theyve eaten themselves to 500 pounds already. im saying that if someone in the past had managed to get diabetes by age 30, they'd have been in the ground by age 32, cause untreated and unmitigated diabetes fucking kills you. modern (taxpayer funded) medicine is the only thing that makes this lifestyle even possible at all today, without that medical care it is straight up suicidal.

Totally agree. It's the lifestyle that is always the problem, and it seems treating the lifestyle was the main way to resolve the issues (I didn't quote the medicines parts, but they were mostly herbs that probably were as good as essential oils are today, the emphasis always being on just changing lifestyle to be more active and eat less).

I was just quite struck with the perennial nature of the issues deriving from obesity, even if they were just smallfats by today's standards. Obese people eating themselves to death despite knowing they were doing so, hiding their bodies in shame, being bedridden, having obvious problems with breathing and performing normal actions (like sitting), dying early from sudden illness, etc. are all things that could apply to literally every page in this thread. Yet many people (both on the FA and the anti-FA side) like to say all of these are sudden issues with society, as if nobody was ever fat in the past. No, clearly everyone has known about fat people suffering like this forever. Moreover, everyone has known exactly how to treat that obesity.

There is nothing new under the sun, even if the deathfats today are big enough to block it out.

It was basically unheard of, so rare talking about it is pointless because it was so rare.

Type two is a recent medical phenomenon, really.

And yes, I can guarantee given my career this far, am really aware of diabetes and how its evolved over the last 100 years or so.

Marrisa's mom being in denial about both her and her daughter's obesity is the reason so many people don't take American nurses seriously anymore.
They're Canadian, but your point stands.

She claims to be, at least. Earlier she was complaining about a guy not getting her off, and when people called her out on bashing him publicly she said "Actually HE paid ME." and she also has some posts from a few years back about her "numerous fuck buddies".

I shall be more discerning.
No, you do you. A lot of users seem to enjoy them. It reminds me of FPH sometimes, "She's not hurting anyone, but, fuck her for being fat!" I mean that in a good way. RIP voat 😢
It's a bit of FPH without the power leveling and orthorexic cirlce jerking.

Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck why did I look?????

Surely that's a medical issue? How do they piss? How can FA still preach that this all hunky dory?
I don't know if it is obvious, but the first picture is flaccid and the second is hard. I do not know how it is to pee with a hard cock, but I have heard it is not easy. This means that, for the most part, the man is peeing with the first pictures penis not the second. This thread is not really meant for this type of stuff but that picture is what I think about when I watch Robert's episode of My 600 lb life.

Lee’s “will you help me pee?” is also very memorable. Even Rena was like “shit man you ate yourself to not being able to pee properly.”

How fat do you have to be before your caregivers just give up and put in a catheter? If someone is getting round the clock care for their weight, I presume that it would be easier for everyone involved if they didn't have to deal with bedpans.
