Thanks for that. Simply, it's just easier to give Sonichu and the Chaotic Combo a more laid-down/ dreadlock look than the typical Sonic look than having to awkwardly position a character to accommodate a bunch of fins coming out of the back of their skulls and backs. Plus, since I'm making them a lot more malleable, it also really helps with amplifying body language.

Also, eventually in this story, I'm going to have it explained that the "Sonic" characters actually think being called either hedgehogs or Pokemon is derogatoryNot exactly sure how I'll have it placed n just yet, but I'm sure Chris will be involved somehow.

What, you mean like how people don't like being called apes or monkeys, even though it's technically true? I mean, I guess that works, but I'd imagine someone as intelligent as Magi-chan at least would just kind of shrug and be like "So?"

Well, remember I'm not writing every character to work on the same level of thought and have the same triggers. I'd imagine Magi-Chan, for example whose had to live hiding Chris for years has grown to be indifferent about it, whereas characters like Blake and Bubbles, who had to live in the public spotlight have become disgusted by being called after fictional animals meant to be captured and raised to live as nothing more than glorified roosters in cock fighting matches.

That, and also I don't play Sonic or Pokemon games, so mainly I don't want it to be conveyed that what I'm writing is as a fan of some arbitrary pre-existing fandom. I'm wanting to take these characters and build them from the core out without adding extra stuff that only Pokemon or Sonic fans would know.

Right at this moment, I'm pegging Angela for Cage, but we haven't exactly seen if Silvana has undergone any personality shifts.

For some reason I'm thinking that her falling out with Reginald had to do with her amassing a small army of teddy bears of various sizes and insisting that they all be facing the bed watching while they do the hanky panky.
