Avowed was just doomed to be screwed over in some form or another as it started as a online game that was a mix of destiny 2 and skyrim that was used to help pitch the company to buyers and then turned into a single player rpg set in the pillars of eternity series plus the fact it was a day 1 game pass release didn't help sales.
What's worse is that the recent layoffs also took out the remaining new vegas devs who were at obisidian. So they fired the rest of the new vegas devs then get Sawyer to head a new fallout with basically 0 talent from the new vegas days. Just lowering my expectations of it being good more and more

I don't even think the design/writing leads will save/ruin the project regardless of legacy talent, as long as quirk chungus millennial women are allowed to write characters. Expect every third character to be Veronica/Arcade but more shallow, a no-nonsense girl boss faction leader, or stupid/evil white men near exclusively filling out the designated chud faction.
Obsidian has no idea what it is doing. This will fail just like Avowed and just like outer wilds.
