Facism influences in anime - Hitler was a weeb

Let's be honest though, it's not that fascism influences anime, rather than Japan simply regarding Third Reich Germany as no different than they regard other empires like the USSR and Napoleon's empire. Plenty of anime with references to the Soviets and other historical empires as well.

Just goes to show you Westerners and especially Americans STILL don't get anime, or Asian culture for that matter, and it's just another case of Westerners trying to act morally superior.

I swear to god I'm going to impale the next bastard that adds "-gate" to the name of every fucking controversy.

Speaking of "-gate" and controversy, this image here from the manga called "Gate" is controversial and kinda ignores WW 2:

I read this is what made Korean's sites fill with hate towards this series. Oh and let's not forget the classic:

A bush hiding an SAS team giggles, considering they sent black guys to fight for the rhodies...

In all, let's be honest. Those uniforms are dope (designed by Hugo boss) and had a strange timelessness to them which is what the client wanted. A lot of the time the fascist elements are scrubbed or toned down as it's often y'know not hitlorz or even shoved deep into alternate history territory and asks questions here and there.

End of the day it's just the CURRENT YEAR crowd screaming.

Also my vote is for world war weeb as opposed to anime gate.

Its obvious that Japan doesn't care about some neon hair gaijin

World war weeb sounds mush better than a gate

If they're going to call anime facist they should focus on obscure anime like Angel Cop which called out the Jews directly and the American foreign policy to start wars in the middle east (this is not a joke) to the point where the subtitled version released in America removed the reference to it:

The dub is hilariously bad though:

Is that legit? I heard it was just a troll fan-sub that put the jew stuff in, and the actual plot is about commies.

Nazi fashion is EVERYWHERE in anime/manga. No one besides japanese sjw (yes, they exist too) cares.

Here's what I call a solid breakdown on the subject of Japanese cartoons/video games and Da Right:

In a nutshell, he points out that Japan's history as such never really developed towards Leftism or Republicanism in the way Western/European lands did. This impacts Japanese stories.

Are they wearing actual SS uniforms? No? Then who fucking cares, because a bunch of fabric by definition can't be fascist. This is on the same level as fundies pointing out secret references to Satanism and the occult in popular media.
you could make a case for fascist design principles and a very special way of asthetic. Its still used in movies today.
Leni Riefenstahls movies and her very special and with fascism connected asthetics are the inspiration for countless move scenes.

A few commenters in that video either said the Manga Entertainment (lower) subs were bullshit or that they heard specific keywords that were only in the top subtitle.

There's a reason Angel Cop has a cult following among /pol/lacks.

Japanese just have a different culture, in a way that seems weird to western round-eyed mi1k-drinkers (or maybe its just that anime gives the west more access to Jap culture than we have to other non-western cultures, esp now we're knee-deep in weebs). You see it in how they're less hung up on virtue-signalling everytime they use pseudo-nazis in fiction, but also in sex stuff like the sister fixation or the gay romance comics pitched at teenage girls, or just in the general bizarreness of the anime sense of humour. Tldr- Japs are just weird.
