I almost want to send him bunch of useless Apple iTune gift cards so he spends an eternity typing the codes over and over and over.

Internet no, but there are certain standards as far as livability for government housing, so they would have fully functioning utilities. The buildings may not be very nice, and everything may not always work, but they are at least supposed to.

Years ago the government set up large apartment blocks or housing developments, but local governments are getting away from those; too much to oversee and too hard to manage with limited funds. Crime could be a real problem in places like that, with a lot of people in a small area. The trend now is toward government subsidies for private housing, meaning they will pay a portion of the rent for a regular house or apartment. Again, conditions can be rough at those places because many places don't want to accept subsidized tenants, but you don't have the same problems with crime that you would in a large development full of lower-income residents.

That right there reminds me of CWCville; a city of apartments, or in this case, soup hotels, all paid by the city government so the homeless can live in them for free. And that means lots of crime. But now I know about government housing in the United States; its technically not that much different from that in Vietnam. But Chris thinks that its possible for government housing to have all working utilities and Internet like his soup hotels in CWCville. I don't know any government housing in the world that has Internet and if there's such a place, it has to be outside of America and somewhere in a secluded and depressing place where living there could risk suicide tendencies from depression with nothing to do.

if he needs cash, he can sign up for survey sites that pay cash for taking surveys

Then they'll ask him to do something which he won't do.

This also serves as a list of places you may possibly have a Chris or Barb sighting at.

Getting care packages because people felt legitimately bad for him is probably making him think he can just ask for stuff now out of the blue 4 months later. Will be interesting to see his response when nothing shows up.

HAHAHA and he just added more to his wish list.

I wonder what the white knights and asspatters thinking of this.

If you're referring to the two additional sets added after the yellow mech thing in the update thread picture, that's another $300 to the total. The bike shop and cafe is about $150 and the fairground mixer thing is another $150. Jesus wept.

Maybe if Christian is a good little boy this year, Santa will bring him these lego kits for Christmas...oh wait he doesn't believe in Santa any more. Oh well, happy shoplifting!

Though in all seriousness, the fact that he's asking for all of this leads me to believe he's finally hit rock bottom, or is very close to it, since we can never be certain with him. It must be bad if he needs a gift card for McDonald's, where you could probably get a whole meal for under $5...

Oh... You made me think of Chris attempting to pull off what the Grinch did..... Just with even less success, and a lack of a Christmas feast.

So have we all decided how much we're sending? I'll cover the first $800 in Legos. Might have to work a few extra shifts but I can manage if I just stop feeding myself. Our man "of more than a hour" needs this.

I'd be happy to send him some diapers. Some of them would even be new.

The only way he wears butt garments is if he's forced.

WORST DEMOGRAPHIC SAMPLE EVER.
He'd screen out of every survey. He's an unemployed, 30+ year old man who doesn't own a house, have any investments, doesn't make any of the major purchasing decisions for his household, has no kids, and probably isn't going to be purchasing a new car or a house any time soon. He might qualify for some of the videogame surveys, but honestly no companies would give a shit about his opinion on anything enough to pay him for it.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the value of Christian's demographic info. It could potentially be useful, like say if someone wanted to start a eugenics program.
