All this talk of Ralph being white trash/trailer trash but at least people who live in trailer parks own their trailer. Ralph is still renting in a suburban area. On the chance Ralph actually tries to raise the kid he will quickly find himself in money troubles because kids (especially babies) are not cheap and he doesn't have family/friends to help offset the massive up front cost. He could try to get a loan but it is doubtful he can qualify for anything being self employed with nothing useful to use as collateral.

In the likelihood that he doesn't file his tax returns, he will not get a loan. Tax returns would be the way banks would test for proof of income so he wouldn't have any proof of income along with not owning anything for collateral. So getting a loan is completely out of the question
 
I just realized, that of all the women Ralph dated, it was Nora was his biggest failure in life. Ralph claimed to love Nora yet he constantly cheated on her, and never asked his wife to move in with him. I think it's tragic that even Nora knew deep down that not only was he a terrible husband, but she couldn't even bear the idea of Ralph being a terrible father and denied him the gift of fatherhood. And if we move on to his other partners, Ade's excuse of not bearing his child is that she couldn't since she was too old. Gunty eventually impregnating BOTH fai-fai AND Mansu proves that the title of "world's best dad" was a life objective of Ralph's. Yet he was never able to do so with the one he claims to love the most.
