So I tried this because they do advertise monk fruit extract and I was curious what that tastes like since I have heard that stuff is a bit odd.
It tasted remarkably normal for a sugar free red-bull, and I wondered why.
Now the front of the can says "with monk fruit extract" but if you twiddle the can around to the back it says "and other sweeteners", which is right, because the 2nd ingredient after "carbonated water" is "erythritol", then 9th ingredient is "sucralose" and finally clocking in at the 12th ingredient is "monk fruit extract".
This is basically a the what the monster zero sugar flavors have for sweetener order
and then they added a dab of monk fruit extract. Bottom line it's not weird at all so if the choice is between this and something truly unknown and possibly vile tasting it's a safe bet by comparison.
This does differ from typical Red Bull sugar free composition, which seems to
only use Sucralose, so if for whatever reason you're concerned about the proliferation of erythritol they seem to be the primary company that avoids that ingredient most of the time.
