The only thing politicians care about is making money and serving their corporate masters. They do not consider the voters as anyone they should care about. Not a single congressman walked to any of the people entering the capitol building and cared about asking what could be one of their constituents what they could do as their representative to help assuage their fears.

Im aware of that. Then its the fault of the common folk not crowd sourcing lobbying and not doing more to express political power beyond voting.

The problem with make money as ones only motive is its self defeating. For example war profiteering is very lucrative. The problem with this as an official is the long term cost. Its literally training possible future malcontents whose number will increase over time as the forever war for profit continues.
Some troops will see how They are getting screwed in a war that makes no sense strategically or is poorly mismanged. This plants the seeds for an insurgency at home. It also increases the amount of active hostile elements in foreign regions. Third it destroys credibility. It makes people view the usa as a rabid monkey needing to be contained. Alliances will be broken or formed to counter American power.

So this money at all costs mindset of americas current officals shows they are unable to understand the long term conquence (to them selves or other people) of their behavior. Which means they re foolish and thus unworthy of authority.

It also means they dont come from common stock any more. Lincoln was definitely a common man. These people? We re the ones they do their version of white flight on. Theres a caste system forming where we no longer see each other as part of our larger community. Thats bad news.
