I have no idea how accurate this guy is, but he has a breakdown of which troops are in D.C., what they do, and their combat history (very, very little). He claims there are more troops in D.C. now than we currently have in Afghanistan. (And the article is a few days old, and more troops have been deployed since then)
He is particularly concerned about:
The 174th Attack Wing, "Drones... lots and lots of drones... Predators, intel-gatherers...
BAD juju,"
The 177th Fighter Wing, "Air to Air F-16 Air defense... what the **** do they need
them for?"
The 262nd Component Repair Company, "you break it, they fix it, No-Go on deployments... to me, this means they expect to
need to repair ****
right then and there as opposed to waiting til they get home."
Lots and lots of troops who have never been deployed, and are therefore more prone to nervous, itchy trigger-fingers.
He also has some comments on logistics. (They're probably a mess).
His advice is to avoid being anywhere near D.C.
