I generally always use Clip Studio Paint EX on Windows 11 completely debloated; sometimes Paint Tool SAI, Photoshop, FireAlpaca, MediBang, Pixia, PaintBBS, MSPaint, OpenCanvas and even ibisPaint on my iPhone.

They go well with my Huion, and I still murder my fingers drawing on my iPhone. :story:
Normally I would do dirty and sketchy completed works, but if necessary, I would go into my laptop or phone and do clean lineworks for days, maybe sometimes I would draw traditionally, but mostly I would just draw digitally on my 1920x1080 Dell laptop.

>A handful of Literally Who? programs in list
>Krita not mentioned

Shamefur, rearry.

I also thoroughly recommend Affinity Designer (at least the first version) if you are unfortunate enough to be on Windows still. A one-time purchase, it's a sublime blend of Photoshop and Illustrator; tons of brushes bundled and even more on the high seas.

clip studio, could add autodesk sketchbook for the handful who use that

also some pixel art purists still swear by retro paint (or paintxp) to this day which i've always found insanely charming

My brother gave me a copy of Photoshop CS6 years ago when I was in middle school, and I've used it ever since. All of my artfag friends swear by CSP and have encouraged me to switch to it, but I just can't get used to its brush engine. I guess I'm just too acclimated to Photoshop.
I also occasionally use Autodesk Sketchbook on my Galaxy Tab s7 when I'm traveling, but Photoshop is still my main workhorse.

and... One gay OP for not putting GIMP you flaming homo.

Clip Studio's just really good.

Its lettering tools kinda suck though. You'd get way more mileage out of Illustrator.

Heh. GIMP used to be my favorite art program when I'm on my pixel art phase. I like using Krita and (questionably obtained) Photoshop. I still have Ibis Paint on my mobile, I just don't use it as much anymore. Is Clip Studio Paint worth throwing your money over? Just asking, I'm a cheapskate as you can tell

Not since requiring a subscription and an active internet connection to even boot up. Used to shill the program to anyone who would listen since it would go on sale pretty predictably at a very reasonable price (25 USD), but I guess that couldn't last forever. It's a pretty solid program if you can questionably obtain it though (minus the shit lettering tools @Godchu mentioned)

I see. Heard so many good things about CSP because it has some 3D assets built in for reference base, I think? But I could just use Blender and snag some free 3D base from the Internet ig

You can just crack instead :story:
It is 100% legal to crack Adobe apps, and other dirt awful expensive apps in general.

Medibangpaint
i need one brush and one brush only, procreate can suck cock without stabiliser

Is this a thread where I can get some help?
I bought a drawing tablet but I'm having a hard time getting started because I am too retarded to learn or decide what program Is best. So far I tried Gimp and paint.net. Not even drawing and I'm already having a hard time editing still images into animated sprites for Wizardy 8 or simple recoloring with Hotline Miami sprites.

What simple drawing programs do you guys recommend to a retard like me? And if possible, can I be provided with some sort of all in one fundamentals/guide video to learning the program?
I'm procrastinating so much that I'm probably screwing myself over by not investing in crucial skills that may or may not get me a job in the future. If being an artist on the Gamindustri even worth it in the first place. Otherwise I might just do it so I can fuck around and draw some tits for Darkest Dungeon.

I apologize for the dogshit grammar and post. Phone posting is hard.

Clip Studio Paint, Trad, and Photoshop gigachads need no explanation. The holy duo of digital programs. Cracked CS6 is a cornerstone of digital art culture. CSP is the golden standard for making comics.

Gimp is for both the technologically illiterate and programmers/engineers, or people that have never known better. The same crowd that will tell you that LINUX IS JUST AS GOOD FOR GAMING AS A WINDOWS BOX!!!

SAI is based for how lightweight it is, but not a true workhorse because of...how lightweight it is. Chinky in a good way, also baby's first cracked drawing program. Great watercolor brush and stabilizer. As far as you'll ever need to go if you're a hobbyist. Brushes themselves are a bit lacking, but the engine is super responsive.

Illustrator is only for graphic designers who spend $4000 of daddy's money on black clothes, Japanese jewelry, and knuckle tattoos. Look guys I made a chrome font and blew it out with noise and scanned black paper wrinkles. Fuck off commie. ......intranetgirl can still be my wife

Autodesk is for the poorfags who can't afford Apple products but still want to draw on a tablet. Probably as good as you're gonna get without buying an iPad.
Decent if you set up the touch controls properly and don't have a lot of brush lag.

I love Krita COPIUM it's just as good as Clip Studio Paint COPIUM Dave Rapoza uses it COPIUM and best of all COPIUM it's totally free! COPIUM - The only good thing about Krita is the chrome brush.
Obnoxiously shilled by rabid poors who are too scared to just crack PS or CSP. Their marketing team aggressively pushes it on places like reddit and 4chan

MSpaint is for when you literally don't give a shit, or are a mediocre artist trying to impress normies who are dumb enough to think that drawing something in MSpaint is a sign of skill, the real skill is drawing while wrestling the dogshit program trying to ruin everything you do constantly.

For pixel artists, I don't see Aseprite mentioned which is criminal. It's UI tries to be too cute sometimes though, which can be annoying. Supports animation

I use krita, because somebody once recommended it to me, and I'm to weak to say no....I heard nice things about Clip Studio Paint; would you recommender using it?

I use Photoshop which is being paid for by my school right now.
I bought for Procreate on my old iPad and it was the first real digital drawing experience I got. I have a soft spot for it.
I also have Krita as a free alternative. I like it? Once I started using Photoshop to draw Krita gathered dust.

Gonna need to crack CS6 looking at the advice given here. Fuck Adobe, but their software's still valuable damn it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I created these masterpieces on Ibis Mobile, and also technically my first digital drawing experience actually came from Ibis. I don't care what abyone says but Ibis was and still is my GOAT for shitposting on the go.

Or you can take your head out of your ass and consider the fact that a). it's the only worthwhile drawing program for Linux and b). it just werks.

>inb4 "LMAO LINUXFAG DETECTED"
Yes.

Enjoy Recall and Photoshop auditing your files for "content moderation", stalker child.
Lmao linuxfag detected. It being the only functional software for your distro is not a win
Nooo they're gonna retroactively patch CS6 and Windows 10 to incorporate Recall noooo I'm so owned
