The TV movie was also supposed to be a pilot for a revival that didn't end up happening due to how it was received at the time among some other fuckery behind the scenes.

They kind of did plot arcs, at least in regards to "plot elements from other story clearly impacted this one that's blatantly meant to be a sequel". Revalation and Remembrance of the daleks having a unique Davros Loyal faction of "impure" daleks with white and gold colorschemes. The revalation daleks are kind amore morbid in the sense they're humans that were in cryosleep getting their uncurable diseases researched being pulled OUT of stasis, maimed, and forcibly mutated as well as brainfucked into Davros' personal army. In Remembrance they're just normal daleks Augged up with cybernetics we never see save for the claw arm that pops out of a dying one. Remembrance is set up in a way where if you saw the prior dalek story you already see the "twist reveal" of davros coming a mile away but in a way that still has a decent payoff.

Destiny, Resurrection, Revelation and Remembrance of the Daleks were all one storyline. These four stories when looked together is my favourite thing related to Daleks the series did. I like them (Especially Resurrection) more than Genesis of the Daleks actually.

Start from the very beginning. An Unearthly Child episode 1, and don't skip a single episode. Even the "missing" ones. They all exist in audio form with fanmade reconstructions if you have ADHD and need visuals. If you argue otherwise or skip anything you are a pussy. Continue until you reach Survival episode 3, which is the end of the original show. From there you can peace out or watch the 1996 TV movie and Scream of the Shalka as bonus material. If you're feeling adventurous then "watch" Death Comes to Time as well. After that, STOP. Nothing else matters, but you can listen to some of the audios by Big Finish if their premises sound interesting I guess.

NuWho is fanfiction and doesn't matter.

I also really like Davison's intro, Castrovalva. It isn't by any means the best, but is a nice regeneration. I may be mildly prejudiced because I liked his Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small. (I was an Anglophile at one point no booly plz.)

Can you explain why “NuWho” is fanfiction, and the approximate date of this section of the series? If my understanding of NuWho is correct, that part of the series has excellent concepts and stories.

I’m not the person you asked, but look at it this way:

NuWho is like a bowl of ice cream with a layer of cat turds on the bottom. Sure you can try some if you want and you’ll probably enjoy it enough to forget about what’s in store, but eventually you’re gonna get to those turds and everything you consumed up to that point may as well have been shit too.

This is why I'd unreservedly say all canon Who with the first five Doctors is worth watching, and even the relatively "bad" parts are still good, but everything after that is spotty at best, usually not the fault of the actor but instead the fault of incompetent/weird/drunk/pedo/etc showrunners.

Even JNT fell into this category although most of his run was pretty good. Dude was a pederast though.
 
In the last two months, I've caught up with the series. Rather enjoyed it. Each Doctor had their charm and couldn't complain about any of them.

Then came Jodie Whittaker. I don't think she would've been a bad Doctor, or even a controversial one if they wanted to try something new, but damn did the writing just chafe. Like steel wool in a bathing suit chafe. I think I just had most of the episodes running in the background while I played games because it was just the most uncomfortable feeling.

But I persisted, and ended up watching the specials. They again, probably would've been decent had it not suffered from writing.

But I finally made it through and watched the Christmas Special (which they seem afraid to call it that now?). It was just... boring. Worse still, they had to put that musical number in. Are younger audiences just so infatuated with musical numbers in their shows? I mean, the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episode was bad enough. The episode did have a tranny singer at the beginning, all playing nice with a group of girls, but they didn't point it out like they did in the first special. I still think the judgement on Gatwa is still out. It seems like he could be a good Doctor, but if Twitter responses orwhatever are to be believed, it's going to go downhill very quickly.

If you want to give the classic series a try, start with the third doctor (season 7 of the original series). Pertwee and Baker are the silver and gold age of the classic series.

In this era, Rassilon's first words to the human race were "On your knees" followed by "The approach begins"

As many Brits are aware, sexual abuse of rent boys was common among British aristocrats at the time, so it's nice to see this referenced in Dr Who.

It's all been said before, but if you compare 13 to Missy, then Missy (for all the bad scripting etc) was a far far superior take on a fleshed out female Timelord. She used her femininity and sexuality, she acknowledged that she was different now, but she also stayed the same deranged nutjob Master. 13 in the meantime, is completely unrecognisable as the Doctor because she throws all his rules and character traits out the window. Just let those spiders starve, sure, support Amazon and not the workers what ho. I think that's what makes it uncomfortable. You're watching a skinwalker.

I skipped this special. Was it as bad as the previous one?

It's Christmas, most kiwis are off doing better things right now. Your mileage may vary if you can't tolerate goofy stuff in the middle of a story, but otherwise it's a fairly decent intro episode to a new Doctor and an enjoyable Christmas special as a whole.

og 60s era space wizard toymaker would have probably already been aware of it and occasionally used it to torment the people he forced to "play" it with him by just straight up explaining the rules. Dude an evil weirdo who was full on in on weird logic puzzle shit like that. Nuwho toymaker though? Well he's a bootleg simm master mixed with bootleg Q from star trek behavior wise so he'd probably either rage and turn into a corn cob because internet reference or just start appearing to say it to people and poof out of existence or some shit.
