Section 60 is where there are really strict controls in terms of filming and photography because it's the location of the recently dead. There is a federal law that bans all political campaigning, ect on military cemetery sites.

The Trump spokesperson seems "interesting".

Steven Cheung gave the following statement to NPR.

"The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony," Cheung said in the statement.

Interesting tidbit from looking up US military cemeteries and the rules/laws involving them, in France there is Oise-Aisne American Cemetery. Part of is consists of Plot E, where the soldiers that were executed for crimes are buried. Apparently it's almost impossible to get to that part of the cemetary.

How do you think Trumpers, conservative media and /pol/ rapefugees in the thunderdome would act if Harris was the one involved in this? Regardless of whatever happened? I'm quite convinced they'd be calling for her execution for daring to tread on the honor of the fallen soldiers. But it's all good for Trump and the fault of the people working at the cemetery, I guess?

Chris LaCivita, a top Trump campaign adviser, added in a separate statement that the cemetery official was “a disgrace and does not deserve to represent the hollowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.”


LaCivita is the person who orchestrated the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth propaganda in 2004 against Kerry's presidential bid. Using accusations of stolen valor and lies about military service as political weaponry. He's also the same person who was behind the accusations of stolen valor and lies about military service being used as political weaponry against Tim Walz.

This is a minor grievance, but as someone who appreciates historical architecture it really bugged me.

Trump Tower was built on the site of the former Bonwit Teller building, a beautiful example of art deco architecture. Trump promised to save some of the building's artistic elements for the Metropolitan Museum of art. Well:

When journalists inquired of the Trump Organization about the existence of the two limestone Art Deco friezes, a spokesperson going by the name John Barron replied: three independent experts had found that the works had “no artistic value” and were worth at most an estimated $9,000. According to “Barron,” the removal would have cost $32,000 and would have meant a week and a half delay of the demolition work. The alleged costs for the delay were later calculated by Trump’s side to be $500,000. The next day “Barron” was quoted as saying that the bronze latticework that had hung over the entrance to the Bonwit Teller building was also missing: “We don’t know what happened to it.” The artist Otto J. Teegan, who had designed the piece in 1930, responded, “It’s not a thing you could slip in your coat and walk away with.” “It’s odd that a person like Trump, who is spending $80 million or $100 million on this building, should squirm that it might cost as much as $32,000 to take down those panels.”

It was later revealed that Trump had ordered it all to be destroyed.

You wouldn't need more than a minute to find out the whole cemetery thing has to do with the Afghanistan withdrawl. You literally couldn't have gotten the picture to mock Trump for it without learning of it.

Sure complain about it if you want, discuss if it is appropriate. But straight up ignoring it to instead make up stories why he was there to get mad about? This is why people say TDS is a thing.

Same thing with the Wallz mocking, where I checked the last few pages and not one person seems to have even tried to get the actual stated reason for it to post. What sort of Lolcow thread fails to register and archive lolcow behaviour to instead gossip about it ignoring the proof and failing to archive it?
