Honestly, I kinda feel at this point, Trump's "best hope to turn things around" is to somehow get India to bow and agree with his tariffs, or (more likely) suck him off to "appeal to his magnanimous nature for mercy". Which might be why he's leaning so hard on it for now. Also, I imagine he doesn't want India strengthening BRICS as an economic power bloc against the US.

That is highly unlikely. At this point, South Korea and Japan are considering increased economic ties with China over Trump's tariffs. So India would be unlikely to fold, especially when there's more of a reason why BRICS should exist now.
That's the more likely scenario. India already has a history of buying from Russia, and they're a founding member of BRICS. Bowing to America at a time when it's weaker makes no sense.
Tbf, the one thing the US had in favor of establishing ties with India is that despite establishing BRICS, India and China have always been fighting each other, hard.

Yes, but that's in the Senate. He also shut down the Supreme Court nominee process that Obama was due, then refused to do the same thing under the exact same circumstances with Trump.

That's the sad thing. Obama offered. He was big on reaching across the aisle, a concept that Republicans used to believe in until Newt Ginrich pretty much shamed all his fellow Republicans for it.
I read a book a few years before Trump's first presidential win containing accounts from staffers within Trump's businesses. They said he often needed basic concepts explained to him more than once and still wouldn't ever memorize them. He would also stumble and slur over his words. He was very protective of his medical records and would always get very offended should anyone question his health. He was showing signs of a mental degenerative condition like Alzheimer's or dementia even then.
Did you read the Omarosa Newman book about her time in the Trump administration? She implied Trump was often drunk, and the job of president was clearly beyond his intellectual capabilities/other people mostly ran the show.

Obama ran as a center-of-the-road neoliberal. If you were to poll if life was better in 2015 or 2025, it would be overwhelmingly for the former. If in 2028 Trump decided to run for a third term and Obama then decided to, Trump would get annihilated. Trump’s memes about arresting Obama fell flat because life was just simply better then.
