I only ever drank the original. It's not as freely available where I live now, though admittedly sometimes I will buy one and a root beer too as a special treat from a specialty store.

My country's version of the Mountain Dew recipe actually is three separate sodas. And hell, one of the Brands had its own spinoff series through the 90s.

Goombay, Goombay (I dunno, one bottled in Capital Island and other in Freeport?) and Junkanoo.

They are named after the local summer festivals. One just happened last night.

So our version of Crystal Mountain Dew, for example, was named Junkanoo Tingum. Tingum is local slang a lot of islander people don't speak the "thhh" sound and Tingum is a catch all phrase.

But both plain Junkanoo and Goombay punch tastes just like Mountain Dew but with more cane sugar.

I like me some liquid beetus every once in awhile, especially when you mix some rum or whiskey in it. I tried the new Liberty flavor recently. I think it's just me, but the taste reminds me of those rocket popsicles. Guess it's the 'Murica they put in it.
