Depressing to consider this will likely be a success, consider that Aladdin movie made like a billion dollars, consider that Disney has managed to build up a huge fan base of people who love and I do mean L-O-V-E Disney and it's products and will eat whatever garbage they shovel out. I know so many people who have taken or will take their kid(s) to either Disneyworld or Disneyland. Their kids are watching Disney movies on repeat all day, and all of those crappy live action sitcoms on their channels.

Also, you have to factor in the legions of nostalgic, child-like millennials and Baby Boomers -- there are so many of them, many more than you would figure -- who will take every available opportunity to gladly consume more corporate content and that's the Disney formula for success and it's a long-term success since the plan is for kids overexposed to Disney product to grow up to be adults that are still obsessed with Disney and filled with ridiculous amounts of pride over being "Disney fans".

Its not even being forgiving about the original. The original Lion King is one of the most colorful and visually distinctive animated movies of that era. For the remake, they removed all those critical design decisions and replaced them with... nothing.

Look how the design scheme changes when Simba starts the song. Its like they said, "this looks good, but how can we make it look even better?"

edit: just noticed Simba pops his claws when he climbs the log. Such a cute little detail.
God the animation of the original Lion King is some of the best shit, I swear to God.

The only thing I'm kinda happy about is that a lot of people have been turned off from this movie. The only people who are gonna defend this are the Disney spergs. Even the normies seem bored.
