That Apu bullshit won't go away. The idiot who made it was on the PBS evening news just a few days ago. He got at least 5 minutes to cry.

Going on PBS is about as close to going away as you can get. That Apu bullshit won't go away. The idiot who made it was on the PBS evening news just a few days ago. He got at least 5 minutes to cry.

When I hear the title of "Tmblrs favorite comedian", the image I get is that of untoasted toast. Or those crackers that are made for very small children. You know, something so bland that it has barely any flavour at all.Went to his Wikipedia page and found this:

That’s not a title to be fucking proud of.
Without being spoilery, does it even need setup? If one were to skip the first episode, could they follow the characters adventures in Fantasy World (a place everyone knows) or ?The first episode suffers from too much setup getting in the way of the jokes, but it feels like classic Futurama after that. Elfo is a great character, the perfect innocent who has to trudge through Groening's nightmare land.
Pure mental illness.
My favourite part is this desperate and nonsensical Game of Thrones reference. "Moon Door-like hole", or as we non-journalists like to call it, a window. However, we’re also supposed to laugh when he responds to a snarky jester by plunging him through a Moon Door-like hole in his throne room.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of long in play plot elements that are introduced in the pilot that might be confusing if you skip it. Josh Weinstein and Bill Oakley are heavily involved in this show. They made some of my favorite Simpsons episodes and their influence is seen throughout. They were the first Simpsons fanboys to work on The Simpsons and they were responsible for keeping a lot of the minor continuity that the show had established earlier but not necessarily recognized.Without being spoilery, does it even need setup? It's not much like Futurama or The Simpsons but still pretty good.I'll watch it later today, or next weekend maybe, but it seems to be "Futurama does D&D", and that sounds really nice to me.

Because one guy who made the famous "Supernigger" skit where he poked fun at his own labels is just like somone who made a documentry sobbing at how a sterotype hurt his feelings.Kondabolu is a whining bitch. What does he have to complain about? He went to what is considered one of the best high schools in the country (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Townsend_Harris_High_School), and two of the most exclusive liberal arts colleges, Bowdoin and Wesleyan, where he was coddled every step of the way. As a comedian his "observations" are weak, rarely rising above the mundane, and his "comedy" often consists of bitching about white people and Christians and he overdoes it with the fake anger to show how ANGRY HE IS about all of the social injustices. His Apu documentary was essentially him and some other privileged, entitled Indian-Americans boo hooing because they may have encountered some infrequent accent-based taunts.
What really got to me was seeing people compare him not only to Lenny Bruce, but Richard Pryor. Richard Pryor. Oh, I can see the similarities, what with one being authentically, wildly hilarious, and the other coming off as peevish and humorless (which is sort of, you see, bad for a comedian).
Watched the first two episodes, liked it so far.
Pure mental illness.
tl;dr: "Waaah, it's not woke!!"

I wtached the last two episodes before anything else.
Here is the deal: You need to kinda watch it as it goes, cause the show actually has an ongoing story.
Events from previous episodes lead directly into the next and are referenced and overall Disenchantment feels more akin to a "grounded" storybased story than the sometimes wacky satire of original Simpsons and Futurama.
It is not the best thing, but it is overall decent enough that I am okay with a second season.
The entire idea that it could be SJW just because the main character is a girl, is laughable.
I do not want to chill the character much, but lets just say Bean feels less like a "stand against sexism" and more like just a tomboy who does not want to be thrown into a role that feels like a very cliched Disney princess. She does not come off as aggressive in what I saw and just seems like someone who does want to do good, but sometimes is a bit of a clutz (similar to Fry) despite having at least common sense. Next to an alcohol problem.
Saw the first 5 episodes. A lot better than what I thought it was going to be. I think I like better than the last few season of Futurama that we got on Comedy Central.
Bean has some wit though, she's a bit like Leela but not that moody, and a bit like Fry, like it's been said.I liked Bean. I liked how she's just kind of drifting in life and doesn't have any plans. That said, it's hard not to compare her to Fry and frankly Fry is a much stronger character.
