Yeah basically Girl Fry and Elf Bart.
Sort of a downside and kind of neat at the same time.
Groening is the kind of guy who would make that elf look like Bart on purpose just to fuck with the audience. Afaik, the Simpsons looked the way they do to a) make them extremely recognizeable even when you zap through channels and just see them for a split second and b) to troll the audience that's not familiar with the color scheme to think their TV is crapping out.

I really love the design of the demon, something about it's basic, simple design just really works for me.

At least the animation isnt completely horrible.
It looks a bit like Blame!, Ajin and so on, only with a western animation team behind it. The backgrounds seem to be mostly 3D while the characters are 2D animation. It does look weird at times, but overall, it's a well-tested approach and it works for me - even though I prefer 2D in most parts.

Overall, I am willing to give this one a chance. Looks kind of strange here and there and a it has to prove itself, but I am cautiously optimistic that it's actually going to be watchable.

It definitely doesn't look as smooth as Futurama, but it's practically Pixar compared to other animated Netflix fare.
I mean it is the same team as Futurama, so they have experience with that style.

then again, they also work on Steven Universe and Zombie Simpsons, both of which look like ass. But hey, they can't all be winners.

It wasn't until recently that I began to appreciate the details put into seasons 2-8 of The Simpsons. It's a shame that the animation team doesn't get nearly as much praise as the writing staff for those years.

Rough Draft didn't join until season 4, but I concur with this opinion. Personally I like "Homer Goes to Collage" just for the animation alone, though the jokes do help.

eric andre is gonna be playing the demon lizard thing i forgot the name of. this show better be good

At first I was annoyed with Bart-looking elf. But after the trailers it seems he's not Bart at all. Elfo is more naive and silly, his voice is also very different, so, yeah, I changed my opinion. Probably will give this show a shot.
And as others have said his resemblance to Bart is probably completely intentional as a way to fuck with audiences.

I'm willing to give it a shot. I fucking love me some Futurama but if I'm being honest the pilot and first three or so episodes were extremely rough and unpolished so it seems unfair of me to judge Disinchanted just by the trailer.

He's such a Happy Little Elf, isn't he.

I will give this a look when it premieres, but given the quality of present day Simpsons and latter day Futurama, I can only muster up the most cautious of optimism. I hope it’s good, but I’m also aware of how bad things can get.
Well to the credit of Matt Groening, he had no hand in Simpsons afaik when it nosedived into its current form.

Personally I believe Groening went soft the past few years. This will probably be funny but I don't think we'll be getting that really dark and cynical humor we got in early Simpsons or Futurama.

personally, some people might not be into the whole cynical humor thing, explain why some fools go watch things like steven universe because they can't adult.
