Did Toy Story 4 suck shit?

Agreed, Disneyland Paris looks like a beautiful park and they put a lot of love and care into telling an interconnected story with their areas (much more than any other park, from what I understand), plus the Imagineers finally getting to create their Discoveryland. Part of the problem looks to be economic issues in Europe due to a recession around the time of opening. I put its bad start down to the park being in the wrong place at the wrong time, more than anything. So I guess EuroDisney was a bad stroke of luck that resulted in a financial loss and domino effect that led to the subpar stuff people remember from the Eisner era.

To get back on topic more I was at Disneyland last year and I remember being disappointed a lot of the Toy Story stuff featured at Pixar Pier was Toy Story 4 related. The merch, I can forgive, because they're obviously going to try to push the hot new stuff onto everyone, but the theming represented at the park itself? They absolutely did the previous movies dirty. I felt the same way about the Incredicoaster being related to Incredibles 2 too.
Paris was a mistake because the French are pretentious and hated the idea of something as American as Disney building a theme park near France, morons threw eggs at Michael Eisner and dubbed it a "cultural Chernobyl"

They then proceeded to import millions of third worlders that turned Paris into a shithole and was the real cultural Chernobyl, go figure.

Incredibles 2 is just kinda pointless film. It doesn't really has a message (besides maybe the whole "new heroes" being "diverse"), and it's just uncomfortable, especially with the sexualisation of Mrs. Incredible, up to the lesbian new hero hitting on her. She's a married woman for Christ sake.
I can't remember anything else about it, and it quickly disappeared in place of the new Spider Man that was a better sequel without even announcing itself as such.
In here it came out at a time where girls were really starting to get annoying about female empowerment and how strong they are, so it came across as not only pandery, but also extremely rude towards Bob and the message of the first film. Basically this man is portrayed as very clueless and incompetent, depressed and working alone in his house, while his wife goes do the superhero shit that in the first movie they wouldve gone do together, has a big chance to die since shes going alone, and realistically has a subtext akin to cheating on him much like she suspected in the first film. And she's portrayed as very competent at it too, meanwhile Bob struggles in both movies from being out of form at both being a superhero and a stay at home dad, when originally he was perfectly appropiate for the job.
Now you could say "well Bob was just being the man of the house thing and its turn for Helen to do the same", but it's not really the same thing, seeing as how Helen chose to be the stay-at-home mom, is good as a superhero and staying at home, forgets the lesson she learned the last movie, and as far as I remember she actively neglects her family in the second movie. It couldve worked but it has such a sleazy undertone to it that it's a very gross movie to watch for me. The first movie its just the way they decided to organize themselves as a family, the second one feels like a put-down because he's a man.
As for TS4, I have decided to not watch it given all thats been said about it. That, and its unnecessary, and while it looks good from a graphics perspective, the new characters look terrible. Bo looks like a Crash Bandicoot character and the spork looks idiotic.

The thing about Disneyland Paris is that it's actually a really good park from what I understand, they just picked the wrong location, had they stuck with Spain like they originally planned it probably would have gone over better, but that was Eisner's call to build it in Paris, which was a mistake, but there's nothing wrong with the park itself.

California Adventure was pretty lame when it first opened though, it's true.
Disneyland Paris only picked up when it opened a version of Space Mountain (although instead of Tomorrowland, they had a "World of Jules Verne" section or some such, which got carried over to Disneyland when the whole section was repainted with an unfortunate bronze and rust-colored redo.

California Adventure, and I think I've said this before, was plagued with budget limitations and poor execution, but it was not a fundamentally bad idea, just like Disneyland (originally) was a celebration of America, California Adventure was a celebration of California, even if it was in California.

I consider all of them to be classics. 4's only fault is its more of woody and bo peep movie then anything else.

Although I think it hits a lot harder if your in a relationship.

While I liked T4 and liked the majority of the plot, I honestly thought that the ending ruined the franchise for me. I didn't like how it left it on a cliff hanger that made no sense. How is Bonnie going to respond when she can't find Woody?

I've heard that Paris is entirely different from the rest of France and that they don't really like Parisians all that much.

I think in general Toy Story is one of those franchises that works a LOT better if you don't think too hard about the deeper (horrifying) implications of the premise, because if you DO, you suddenly have to think about the mass graves of still-living, probably immortal toys rotting away in a landfill for the rest of eternity.

IMO, a less existentially-horrifying answer to living toys would be to have them be "animated" by the love/belief of their owners. That way, they can at least eventually die instead of being cursed with immortality, and you don't have to worry yourself about the millions of toys discarded and buried alive, some without even being taken out of their packaging.

The Pixar Theory states something about a certain type of life force created by the old woman (the theory claims that the old woman is actually Boo from Monsters Inc.) in Brave that gives life to inanimate objects like toys.

The only people from France I know all hate Parisians, and it's not hard to imagine why.

Can confirm, every French person I've talked to online plus everyone I've met that actually went to France pretty much says Paris and Parisians are awful but the rest of France is alright.

Paris is what happens when you combine the worst elements of NYC, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland into a single city and then make it a European city on top of that

And now we've reached a new level within milking the dead cow of classic Pixar. We're getting a serious feature length Buzz Lightyear movie starring Chris Evans as the "original" Buzz.

I honestly don't take enjoyment in rooting against Disney, they have now what 90% of the pop culture entertainment I hold strong nostalgia for? I just can't help but feel this is uninspired in that Pixar had minimal involvement in the 2D "Buzz Lighyear of Star Command." It goes to reason that if the old guard of Pixar didn't have much attachment to the character of Buzz Lightyear itself then why should I think the new generation is putting their heart and soul into this movie?

TS 1 and 2 came out when I'm sure a lot of us were relatively young about andys age, TS3 was perfect to end with because we were still about andys age or maybe even a little bit older so its a nod for the original audience to say goodbye to that part of our lives.

Pixar had a good thing to be remembered with and they fucked it all up for cash lmao

Mark my words if this does well we will get another 2 Buzz movies and a trilogy of Woody's Roundup movies, got to milk everything to death.

Toy Story 4 I did like(6/10 movie) but it was clearly done as a cash grab and not out of any artist want/need to make another, I fully expect Buzz Lightyear to be the same.

To infinity and beyond!

Why is it that every single one of the great cities has become hell on earth

Is there any word if they are going to use characters or concepts from the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon? Bet dollars to donuts that the movie will end with Buzz saving Earth/Star Command but is thrown back in time and space to a little western town and meets a certain Sheriff.
