Paris was a mistake because the French are pretentious and hated the idea of something as American as Disney building a theme park near France, morons threw eggs at Michael Eisner and dubbed it a "cultural Chernobyl"Agreed, Disneyland Paris looks like a beautiful park and they put a lot of love and care into telling an interconnected story with their areas (much more than any other park, from what I understand), plus the Imagineers finally getting to create their Discoveryland. Part of the problem looks to be economic issues in Europe due to a recession around the time of opening. I put its bad start down to the park being in the wrong place at the wrong time, more than anything. So I guess EuroDisney was a bad stroke of luck that resulted in a financial loss and domino effect that led to the subpar stuff people remember from the Eisner era.
To get back on topic more I was at Disneyland last year and I remember being disappointed a lot of the Toy Story stuff featured at Pixar Pier was Toy Story 4 related. The merch, I can forgive, because they're obviously going to try to push the hot new stuff onto everyone, but the theming represented at the park itself? They absolutely did the previous movies dirty. I felt the same way about the Incredicoaster being related to Incredibles 2 too.
They then proceeded to import millions of third worlders that turned Paris into a shithole and was the real cultural Chernobyl, go figure.
