I have a question about Diablo 2 Resurrected. If you play only using the legacy graphics is the game uncensored and do you still have access to the new QoL stuff and additional content ?
the legacy mode only works pre-warlock so in classic and LoD modes and you get all the perks that came with the remaster up to that point

Yea that's crazy. It must be nice to have other nolife friends to do p8 games. I'm guessing that and having 2-3 terror shards dropping in every zone of Hell to have constant terror zones is doing the heavy lifting. I tried to stay up for the first night, even drank a Monster with dinner, but I still only made it to Countess and fell asleep after about an hour of doing runs for early Runewords at around midnight. Then I woke up and saw every streamer running Hell or end game zones and the top of the ladder was 91 with others in the high 80's and realized I can never compete. I managed to finish the rest of normal last night at level 34, running a fire warlock for now until I get a few more levels to switch to abyss when I start Nightmare.

edit: Well I already finished Nightmare and hit lvl 64. Abyss is pretty broken, even having shit luck getting any upgrades to gear. Only good thing I found in all of Nightmare was a +2 Chaos Skills amulet with a bunch of resistances and a decent +1 Warlock skills circlet to not have to make Lore since no Sol runes have dropped either. Now it's time to farm Nightmare CS/Baal/Cows until I can finally upgrade from my Stealth before going into Hell. I might also need to nigger rig some MF gear with topazes to speed things up.

i skipped a day and a half and just parked on a1 NM to farm countess for runes, 1 hour later i had enough for insight, rhyme/splendor, lore and that 3OS armor hel+shael+ral thing that gives +2 to warlock skills, but I've had rather shit luck finding bases - only got a 4OS partizan which while not great gave me a lv16 meditation and quadrupled my merc's damage

I've been having the same problem, I have enough runes so far but I can't get a good base to put them in. It's why I'm still using the plate mail Stealth from Act 2 Normal going into Hell now, that and I'm being too autistic about specifically wanting a mage plate for my Warlock runeword and giving up an area when I don't get it after 5-10 tries. I could have upgraded anything at this point, but I'm being too stubborn plus when I'm already killing everything instantly, then why worry about survivability? I finally said fuck it and pushed through Act 1 Hell, now I'm just going to do Countess/Pit runs until I finally get something closer to end game gear.

I made a spirit in a 4OS giant sword yesterday just to have something better than a shitty knife I've been using since a1 normal and didn't find jack across 10 runs of NM cow level, meanwhile 3 minutes into terrorized NM catacombs I found this 4OS crystal sword which also means i can ditch the book and run a shield with rhyme or splendor in it

edit: oh wow okay this is actually massive and I haven't seen it anywhere in patch notes, but grail progress persists between seasons and ladder/nonladder, I was wondering why so many uniques were dropping without the green eligibility text

can confirm that latent sunder charms do, in fact, drop from heralds even at 0% magic find

this was, however, a tier 5 herald with like a 3x drop chance and 9th consecutive herald in that game in which I used a shard to terrorize the entirety of act 1
I don't think melee builds will ever have a chance of killing them given they spawn with thorns half the time
shards also seem to drop like candy compared to last season

Ended up grabbing D4 on the humble bundle choice. They fixed a lot from the "stress test" i can get a horse before finishing the game and a pet.

any build recommendations for rogue?

Good to know because I sure as shit haven't seen any charms. Right now I'm doing TZ runs for xp and noticed I spawned a Herald of Terror about 5-6 times to where I had to look up what the tiers were to see if something was bugged then saw that's the highest one. Could have fooled me because they haven't dropped shit, not even unique or set gear. I guess I am only at 92% mf (KWAB), but it's still seems pretty bad luck to not get anything off them. At least I found Wraithstep Boots off a random monster. I'm up to at least 8 Heralds of Terror now so maybe something will finally drop after a few more.

Edit: Ok, so I terrorized Act 1, found a Goldwrap belt at the start to bump my mf over 120%, spawned at least a dozen more Heralds of Terror...and got jack shit. The only worthwhile drops the whole time was a Highlord's Wrath amulet, and few +2 skill helmets for other characters if I decide to make them. After I finished Andariel and was deciding which act to terrorize next the game decided to put me out of my misery and crash so now I'll have to start over. What a shitload of fuck...2 full acts terrorized(I did all of act 4 before I posted) plus going to other random zones on the schedule like Magi Canyon and Cows, at least 20 Heralds of Terror spawned and killed, went from lvl 86-88 during the whole thing, and didn't get shit for drops let alone any charms. Something's fucked up or the heralds just aren't worth farming. Thankfully Abysslock can just spam chains during the time it takes to spawn so it's easy enough to kill, but fuck going out of my way to do this shit again.

don't get your hopes up, I'm 10 terrorized acts in and they didn't drop anything worthwhile, actually managed to die twice because it was an extra fast fanaticism/concentration pack in a tiny corridor
i'm thankful i didn't throw the charm away and traded it for one i can use, forgot that lightning is a hot element because javazon, nova sorc and tesladin are all popular and strong
i'm starting to get burned out on this season already and collision on miasma chains is actually driving me nuts, 90% of the time i can't set up a proper trap because merc and defilers just walk right in front of where i want to cast them
edit: actually why aren't i just playing nonladder at this point? i have two full enigmas there

After a couple more days of running full acts and not getting shit, I need to rant more about how fucking retarded the Heralds/Sunder Charm farming is. I tried watching a video that explains some super autistic reddit post that goes over everything as far as how they spawn, the drop rates for charms, and also how they nerfed the chance to get uniques and rares. My basic understanding is on average if you terrorize the entire game you can get a little under 100 tier 5 Heralds to spawn which should give you a chance to get at least 1-2 Sunder Charms, or it was something like 50 Heralds to get 1 charm which should be about 2.5-3 full acts. So basically what they expect people to do, is speedrun through the entire game at the hardest difficulty in one sitting, while also trying to 100% clear all the monsters from every map to get the most Heralds to spawn, and the entire time you're trying to get one specific item that's already a 1/6 to be something you need, the random monster you have to hunt for them doesn't give you jack shit else. Plus it's a pain in the fucking ass to deal with on top of everything else with the most broken auras and a full pack of monsters with them. I feel like I can't even use a merc because he just instantly dies 95% of the time, so every encounter I'm pretty much chugging all my potions and hoping the pack drops enough to refill my belt so I don't have to go back to town, while also dealing with the usual bullshit you get from playing Hell, and then there's the random chance the game just shuts down and makes me start over. I wish there was a way to just shut off the Heralds so I can play terror zones to level up and do normal farming while not having to deal with them popping up. I guess I'll have to just go off the random schedule to play a zone and restart so I'm only dealing with the first tier, or maybe if you just run away from the first one then the others don't spawn? Otherwise I'm not going to even bother picking up shards any more because I'm not going to use them until these fucking Heralds go away or get changed to make them worth the frustration. Of course I could also just skip them completely because apparently the Charms can drop in terrorized zones in Nightmare, or at least from the act bosses, so maybe it's better to just use my secondary character to run Nightmare over and over, or use my warlock to make it easier but not gain any xp. I don't fucking know any more, I understand it's supposed to be optional end game shit and it's supposed to be hard, but there's a huge difference between a challenge and just being tedious as fuck with little to no pay off to the point it makes you not want to play the game at all any more.

Edit: Fucking LOL, of course 5 minutes after this post RNGesus blesses me with a fire charm off a tier 2. I guess I just need to bitch about this game more often and threaten to quit because I always find what I need right after.

I found a different video the other day that helped me understand the heralds more and the best way to farm for them. I'm sure some of it's common sense but the basic TL;DW is rushing to get to tier 5 as fast as you can by moving on to the next zone after killing a herald. The video explains how there are herald spawning zones different from the actual terror zones (like Blood Mor and Den of Evil are the same terror zone, but they are 2 separate herald spawning zones for one example) and how there is a percentage of monsters you need to kill to be able to even have a 1% chance to spawn, so that's why it's best to dip out instead of full clearing an area. Then once you get to tier 5 you can try to full clear more, but again if it spawns late in a zone then it's better to just move on. There's an add-on that tracks everything, but I'm on console so that doesn't help.
I already had better luck yesterday morning and got a cold charm quickly that can go to my Sorc when I respec her to Blizzard. Maybe I'll also give her the fire charm and make her Orb/Hydra instead. I also found some decent unique claws so I want to try to make a Fire Assassin with a mix of Martial Arts and Fire Traps. Pretty much these charms are going to get passed around like whores for the rest of the season, or until I find more by accident. It feels nice to be able to open up different builds and experiment a little now that I can break immunities to get all the classes through Hell for achievements. Of course I have to actually get the characters up to 75 first, so I'm taking a break from Abysslock for a little bit. As strong as it is I still don't really like how it plays or going full magic damage when there's the rare chance to hit immunities like Tal Rasha's Tombs or the 2nd wave before Baal that cuts out good grinding areas. Plus I think I still like Echoing Strike the best so I made a 2nd Warlock to try the leveling/hybrid version with Tainteds. I'll probably end up hitting 99 on any of those other characters before Abysslock.

So i just straight up lost interest in D4, i got to the second area and got bored with it. Some people in a guild i joined power leveled me to hell and now it's just kill mob move to next area even the story is getting a bit boring. I might force myself to finish it just to say i did it, but literally have zero interest in buying the DLC or finishing the game atm.

Glad i only paid $10 for it not worth more then that in my mind.

I tried to boot it up and play through about 3 or 4 times but the game is just so boring to me, so paint by the numbers. I played D3 for thousands of hours, played through D2:R, played plenty of other arpg's as well all the way through; PoE, TL1/2, Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, etc. etc., even Wolcen ffs, and D4 just bores me to tears.

Such a shame because it's a game I want to like and enjoy but I just don't like the way they've gone about too many systems and the whole online open world aspect to it. It's a more boring D3 with a D2 coat of paint on it. Very uninspiring.

if you're craving that hack n slash combat and nothing but that, try one of the Vampire Survivor clones (not VS itself, as it's very basic and as much as I appreciate it for introducing me to the genre, unlocking new characters is just cancer) - my personal recommendations would be Halls of Torment (almost impeccably captures the feel and visuals of Diablo 1) and Jotunnslayer (basically Diablo 4/PoE except better because you can play as a dwarf)
There's also Arms of God but I haven't tried it yet and won't until it leaves EA (bought it without realizing)

I bought D4 on launch and haven't been bothered to really get into it past Act 1. It's not quite as fun to run around solo as D2 or even D3 though for some reason.

I enjoyed Grim Dawn a fair bit as far as Diablo-likes go, however. It's got a good amount of freedom with builds without you needing to plan five years in advance like PoE and there's a lot of room to experiment.

Oh Grim Dawn is the goat, i'm hanging out for the new DLC fangs of Astkearn comes out next month. But yeah act 2 was just dull it was the exact same as act 1 and it got old fast.

Forgot to add the aggressive micro transactions being shoved in my face all the time for ugly arse skins put me off. The free channels "battle pass" not being entirely free also put me off. If i wanted to get more WoW stuff i had to pay for it. Just really gross and tiresome not to mention even when trying to claim the "free" skins for weapons i couldn't get them because i didn't own the DLC was just stupid.
