Dexter: New Blood - Tonight's the night, and its going to happen again....

All of the Dexter's Lab jokes aside, I've actually watched this entire series. Of course he died. I don't get why that disappoints so many of you. (Unless you prefer the books, and if so, fair enough.)
Dexter was a serial killer, and he broke his own code over the course of this series- more than once. Maybe it wasn't the most satisfying possible ending, but Dexter 100% deserved what he got.

To be clear though, I don't want to see a Harrison series either.
It’s been done to death, I’ve seen this ending in so many shows and it’s been terrible everytime. I’d like to see an ending where Dexter intelligently squeezes himself out of the situation especially with such weak evidence I’m not saying it has to work out clear cut because I do enjoy remaining tension in an ending. With the ending we got, I’d like an ending that doesn’t insult my intelligence and hint at a spin off with a character that isn’t that significant to me personally (the whole draw to Harrison was his dynamic with Dexter and the whole thing screamed missed opportunity). The only way they could bring him back is if Dexter has a weak heartbeat and is handcuffed to a hospital bed- even then it would be a cop out just like the hurricane. They should’ve known this ending wasn’t going to fly when it was bad last time.

Dexter as a series was always at its best when Dexter had his back to the wall and was forced to get creative *And make tough choices*.
This is why I both love & hate season 2 the showrunners had Lila rob Dexter of character growth and let her kill Sgt. Doakes.
Now, Why do I bring this up? Well, Harrison's Coach/Sheriff being killed by Dexter was great *In conception* although the execution was piss poor, the season overall was good but I feel there should've been at least two more episodes.
(I'm going to Re-read the books by Jeff Lindsay Dexters brother Brian is still alive in the books, and I enjoyed how the author ended it in book 7 "Dexters final cut" Where Hollywood comes to Miami and actors shadow Dexter & Deborah for upcoming roles in a T.v. series and wackiness ensues.)

Última edición:
No straight up the worst part is that Dexter's girlfriend is the one who caused his downfall, because she's so fucking bland.
It was lame that she never did any nudity considering if this was the original TV series they definitely would have and the actress has done nudity in other projects.

Yeah, that was always such a cheat.

I think that's the next to last book, Dexter's Final Cut, Dexter is Dead involves him taking on some cartel leader or something like that.

I disagree, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Does anyone wonder what happened to Ghost Harry? Would have been even more impactful to have both Ghost Harry and Ghost Deb appear as Dexter is dying, so why didn't James Remar make any appearances beyond archival footage?

It also would have been cool fanservice if the song "Born Free" was ever used again, maybe playing on the town bar's jukebox.

Also, I wonder if anyone in the writer's room is a Resident Evil fan, Kurt taxidermies women like Chief Brian Irons and uses a sniper rifle equipped with a laser sight like Alfred Ashford, is that just coincidence?

Killing molly was such a dumb fucking move and im amazed they went for it , i get that they wanted to tie up loose ends but having molly be alive could have lead into a really good post credits thing/epilogue,I hate how rushed the entire ending was , it feels like they had to finish it quickly so they just went "fuck it dexter dies by harrision something something dying so your son may live"

If you will notice , the entire series has no nudity in it except for 2 things i remember (the chick matt fucks when dexter goes to give him the rifle , and even then shes wearing a bra , and the chick kurt shoots in the head , you get a slight look at her nipple before he turns off the camera) Personally i think dexter had way too much nudity in it at times , like the show runners thought the only way people would watch it was if there was at least 5 full frontal tit shots per episode.

Real answer: The actor probably wasn't available to come back for the filming.
In story answer: Maybe dexter swore off harry after debs death and saw deb as his anchor to reality and so she replaced him?

Just finished watching this and it was alright. Almost dropped it in the middle because after the first episode it felt like the show was just spinning its wheels. Might have found it better if it were 6-8 episodes letting them cut out the repetitive moments and tighten up the story a bit. Figured they'd go with the ending they did but as it was building to the finale wanted to see him get away. Couldn't tell you why other then I like the Dexter character.

Better then the original finale but you could have put a monkey in front of a typewriter for the last 8 years and ended up with a better ending then that one.

Somehow, Dexter returned.

Resurrection is supposed to be a continuation or something. Original Sin is a prequel and has a trailer here.

wow, can't wait to see them fuck up the ending for a third AND fourth time in a row

Oh boy, I can't wait to get fucking disappointed again. I wonder how they're going to shit the bed this time? Will they forget basic important plot notes of the original series again? Or maybe another series of pointless cameos that don't do anything? We already know they're going to totally bone the ending up, it's tradition at this point.

Holy shit, it's real? I thought it was a fake. Oh God, what a train wreck this will be. Michael C. Hall is a decent actor so I don't know why he's trapped in this series.

Steady mid six figure paycheck for a few years is the only reason. He'll get paid as the lead actor and a producer credit. Maybe even write or direct an episode. He knows that the show won't be an award winner. And that it will likely not be popular with the fans. But it's guaranteed high profile work and income.

Hall isn't exactly getting a ton of credits right now, he apparently hasn't starred in anything in the past 2 years since New Blood and that's including theater credits.

I don't get why, he's a great actor going by Dexter but outside of Gamer(which was shit), the Justice League AU movie(it's fine but low budget just like with any DCAU movie) and Game Night(it's cool) I've not watched any of his credits.

First episode for Dexter Original Sin is out, users on 4chan are saying it's pretty bad (I don't know if that board is a reliable source as I am not a frequent user of 4chan).
Its pretty good IMO. It unfucked New Bloods ending, and got the stuff that we already know about out of the way pretty quickly. The new actors have the characters spot on so far.
That being said, I don't trust them to not fuck it up. They've fucked it up twice, and I expect they'll do it again.
7.5/10

I guess I'll wait till all the episodes are out to see if it's worth downloading from a private tracker.
