It’s been done to death, I’ve seen this ending in so many shows and it’s been terrible everytime. I’d like to see an ending where Dexter intelligently squeezes himself out of the situation especially with such weak evidence I’m not saying it has to work out clear cut because I do enjoy remaining tension in an ending. With the ending we got, I’d like an ending that doesn’t insult my intelligence and hint at a spin off with a character that isn’t that significant to me personally (the whole draw to Harrison was his dynamic with Dexter and the whole thing screamed missed opportunity). The only way they could bring him back is if Dexter has a weak heartbeat and is handcuffed to a hospital bed- even then it would be a cop out just like the hurricane. They should’ve known this ending wasn’t going to fly when it was bad last time. All of the Dexter's Lab jokes aside, I've actually watched this entire series. Of course he died. I don't get why that disappoints so many of you. (Unless you prefer the books, and if so, fair enough.)
Dexter was a serial killer, and he broke his own code over the course of this series- more than once. Maybe it wasn't the most satisfying possible ending, but Dexter 100% deserved what he got.
To be clear though, I don't want to see a Harrison series either.
