E-Celebs don't typically go missing to the point the police need to use days of manpower in order to find out if they're even still alive or not.

No, but come on... it IS a great idea if you want to boost those youtube shekels.

So have they found his body yet? If he did jump off that bridge, he should be floating soon.

Still nothing? My guess is dodgy cult but optimistically waiting for a RIP headline. Guy would be better off dead than in a nuthouse if they'll just release him after a short while.

Like I said, till he's confirmed ded. I'll be the first to admit I am not familiar at all with him, but isn't he known for baiting this kind of shit?

The big tldr of this thread so far: he dissapeared, cops are looking for him and very special individuals on reddit are trying to find him.

but isn't he known for baiting this kind of shit?
He's known for suicide baiting and just generally acting like a complete lunatic on camera but the disappearing act is brand new. Like I said earlier in the thread, I've never seen a suicide bait disappear like this, but I've seen a few suicides do it.

The one thing we all know for sure about Etika is that he's out of his fucking mind. In today's privacy-free surveillance shithole of a country, it's hard to disappear so completely. You can do it, but it takes some effort and know-how and a lot of planning. His disappearance is high-profile enough to land him on the front page of CNN, so you know more than the bare minimum has been put into finding this guy. Now evading that is hard enough, but evading that while being balls-to-the-wall-nutterbutter and detached from reality to the point where you've been sectioned a few times is downright implausible.

I'm telling you guys this dude is dead.

I just don't think it was a wise idea to drop everything to go to Florida. Who would be taking him? Because a Bus would not work and people would've spotted him on a Bus, so how is he getting there and it all being a huge hush hush?
You'd be surprised on how apathetic people on buses are. It took a guy having a seizure on an intercity bus I was on once for people to notice and call authorities. If he's not dressed too flashy and took off before the manhunt started it's plausible he took a greyhound or something.

I seriously hope Etika is okay, but by repeatedly doing shit like this, he's eliminating any goodwill he had.

He's dead, no question about it. And with how publicized this whole ordeal is, I'm just praying we don't get any Werther effect shit from this. I don't know much about the guy, but I imagine he's got a lot of young, impressionable fans. So if he really did Cobain himself, I don't think it would be too much of a stretch.

How wise is Etika?

I don't find Etika stupid really. He can do stupid things at times, but so does everyone.

If his wallet was in the bag, how would he get on a Greyhound without having the funds? Unless he thought ahead of time to grab the ticket, which is possible, but then that would mean he did plan this out to some extent.

you can pay with cash, they say you need a photo ID, but I've never been carded on Amtrak or the Peter Pan Bus (like greyhound but serves a different region)

The police would be able to see if he withdrew a large amount of cash from his bank, right? Don't they often publicise such a thing when appealing to the public for information?

If he did get on a Bus or something, I do hope someone on there would know who he is and give us some intell if he's actually going to Florida -- this would at least ease the worry if he's alive or not.

Reddit isn't being very insightful right now. One individual wanted to splurge and claim some robber was Etika, but that was easily debunked.

Will police stop actively searching for a missing adult in the US after a certain amount of time passes? Or is it active until the trail runs cold? I know the first 48 hours are supposed to be the most vital for finding somebody.
Yes and no. When all leads have been exhausted and new ones cease, the case is moved to the back burner to spend more time on more active cases. They never stop reminding the public of the missing person though (especially in the social media age).

Sometimes it depends on the workload of the investigator assigned to the case and how many investigators they have available at the moment. If a PD has a few on hand it might be passed down to another investigator, probably to a relatively new one (to gain experience). Smaller police departments usually have only one or two investigators that handle homicide, missing persons, drugs, everything. So they might not have as much time as they'd want for the cold missing persons case.

This is the NYPD, so I'm assuming they have a good amount of investigators of all kinds. That being said, they probably won't have one specific investigator who has Etika on the brain 24/7 that focuses on nothing else.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for bodies to be found after jumping? Do they have a way to drag it?
looking at the map, it looks like that nigga could float out to sea if he jumped from the bridge but im too small brained to know how currents work, which direction they go in the US from that specific location, but bodys float so someone is bound to see a body floating unless he gave himself some concrete boots.

I think bodies and other objects drifting in rivers and oceans, generally end up reaching the coach dragged by currents and shit.
That's why you have so many whales and other big dead animals getting stranded on the shores.
If he really jumped of that bridge, his body will be eventually found in some beach.

I think I saw there was a body recently found of a guy who jumped from NY that ended up on a beach in Florida, although I can't find the article so take that with a grain of salt.
