There isn't ever going to be a magic solution that works for a majority of people, and the years and years of pharmaceutical and illicit drug use that's proliferated among western populations has led to a large swath of people who are going to need some sort of serious intervention in order to integrate into society(or even be functional tugboaters that can like drive and take care of themselves and shit) - and that's not even touching on vaxx injuries and people who've just made themselves retarded with weed or alcohol.

Even anti-psychiatry is snake oil and leads to weird holistic pipelines propped up by hoteps and scientologists. Chemicals are going to work for some people, "just work out and go outside dude" is going to work for others, some will find solace in Christ or other (imo invalid) religions, and some are just straight fucked and need to be in a padded cell forever. Sometimes depression can be caused by a different underlying issue too, like I was depressed because i was struggling with adhd executive dysfunction, so ssris didn't do much to help. Once I started on adhd meds, I was able to get my shit together and my depressive symptoms went away

Sometimes people have to take medications because if they're off it, they're worse. I've said it before. Some people have no choice. For example, Bipolar, other serious mental illnesses like that where you can end up doing something dangerous because you end up on some manic high.

The point of antipsychotics is that it levels moods and lessens the chance of those problems.
