Where are these botnets starting from? Surely this is illegal activity and can be tackled that way?

And if not the people running these botnets have names and addresses

There's nothing to rally around. I've asked PPP to ask if anyone has contacts in the DDoS mitigation industry to reach out. If Metokur wants to as well that's nice. It's also an incredible longshot not likely to work out. That's basically the only thing that can help: a real connection to someone in the industry with balls.

If it wasn't Elaine it would be Naught and if it wasn't Naught it would be their new animal torturing Malaysian friend and if it wasn't him it would be some tranny. DDoS attacks are cheap. Anyone can afford $80/mo. If I just had DDoS mitigation working I'd go back to ignoring all these people publicly and forwarding information about their shit to where it needs to go.

I remember you mentioning back when KiwiFlare was being rolled out that most attacks from botnets came from hijacked smart devices like smart fridges, which is why increasing the workload for the PoW captcha filtered them out. Are botnets of that kind the source of this attack?

Is there a set of networks the attacks come from, or is it more spread out? Can you get your upstream to blackhole traffic from the DDOS source networks going to your AS?

Since Elaine is a foreign NVE terrorist, you could submit information to the CIA. Fun fact: they actually maintain a .onion site for informants and whistleblowers to submit tips. That sucks, but that connection didn't help, did it recover though to .st after? Seemed like forever was tor 2021-2022 and all the covid shit going on.
 
I've spent the last week meeting with one of the most evil companies on earth, so evil if you asked people "Who is more evil, CompanyA or KiwiFarms" even the trannies would say "CompanyA". Anyway, as usual DDoS Came up.
One thing I learned from our discussions is that DNS server companies are working at DDoS mitigation at the DNS level. If you can't get the IP address of the site you want to attack then you can't attack them. The server either returns a "real" address or the address of a honeypot/tar pit. You can do this based on behavior of the DNS requests(4000 requests from South America, start returning junk) or like another poster mentioned by custom hash based sub domains once you've made it through the hardened auth server you get shunted to your own DNS entry pointing to live servers.
This seems great in theory, but despite their evilness they don't get attacked much and it's usually "Regular DDoS Retards". The problem Teh Farms has is that we have to assume we're dealing with "Advanced DDoS Retards" who would have their C&C servers figure out this trickery and work out which servers are live.
As Nool has mentioned it's not until you get big enough to either tank the whole attack or be allowed to do routing trickery to drop the DDoS at the edge you're at the mercy of others and the size of your pipe.

Believe it or not, this is the first time I've used Tor to access a website. That's how much I enjoy this site, and how committed I am to getting around the virtual vandalism of perverts, criminals, and lunatics who don't want their sordid doings exposed and ridiculed.
