Honestly it was just a matter of time until getting a skitarii as a class. It makes sense as another class that would focus on range and it fits pretty snug into a similar power level to an arbiter or ogryn.
 
Since Fatshark revealed that Skitarii will have 4 voices but no male/female version like other classes. (but you likely can change the pitch). Now on reddit and discords people started jumping onto that 'trans mechanicus meme again. If anything it only made sense because cogboys would likely had their vocal cords replaced so they can sound whatever they want regardless of what they were born as, and that their body would be replaced so much it's hard to know what their sex actually is from naked eyes. That's sci-fi logic that exists on a different axis to when people claim to be trans/NB today.

This is a devil's advocate, because if these people want people to take their gender ideology seriously, maybe using a dystopian cult that tells you to replace your flesh with machinery as an allegory for trooning out might not be the best idea, and yet gender nonsense is always saddled on Adeptus Mechanicus when it comes to recent 40k media.

I bet they're saying that and it's actually just 2 clearly male and 2 clearly female voices labeled 1 2 3 and 4 or whatever. No one mistakes Hadron for anything besides female and ditto for Kayex as male. This is 100% lip service to the discord freaks making lobbies worse.
Something that I hope they'll do which they definitely won't is have conversations between two skitarii characters be in some Cant Mechanicus dialect. I really liked the unintelligible jabber between tech priests in the Mechanicus game.

Skitarii is out and I'm confined to the grey walls of my office for another four hours.
Probably gonna build it like this, with the arc maul and phosphor pistol. None of the auras seem that good and neither do the blitzes, at least the servo skull is set and forget. I might drop the improved servo skull and Omnissian Recharge Litany (10% toughness over 3s when hitting three enemies with an attack) for Shockline Breach Protocol (pushing grants 50% melee cleave for 8s) and Capacitor Reclamation Loop (hitting 3 enemies with a melee attack restores 1% capacitance) if it seems like capacitance generation is lacking.

Something I really like about how the class is designed is that all three abilities utilize capacitance differently, Voltaic Emitter burning through all available charges, Chordclaw Strike consuming one charge per use, and Advanced Combat Doctrine steadily chewing through charges. What I would have liked to see would have been the blitzes designed around capacitance in some regard as well, even if it was only one of the options. I know the one node for the skull eats capacitance but I was thinking something along the lines of the blitz charging similar to the actual abilities.
What I don't like about the tree itself is that while it seems to have been designed around being able to circumnavigate tax nodes, there are still tax nodes in bottlenecks and there's no way Fatshart doesn't know they're tax nodes. For example, to access Redline Capacitors, you have to take Data Sensor Protocol (one of those team skills with an internal cd), or if you want to access Capacitor Reclamation Loop from the left side, you have to take Target Prioritization Psalms (specialists within 12m are marked, like why even). Credit where credit is due though, most of the do nothing/undesirable nodes are on the periphery.

I'm too retarded to understand the skill trees so I just hope the skitarii weapons are fun to use like Arbites is.

Early reviews seem promising though.


Edit: looking at gameplay the galvanic rifle is literally just a slightly glowy M1 Garand and I am in love.

Skitarii is so much fun. Every time i use the totally legally distinct m1 garand and hear the click the dopamine in my brain starts to go off. Went with the claws since i can just poke single target specials to death with one charge. Praise be the Omnissiah.
 
Playercount is peaking higher than arbites release. Whodathunkit, cogboys are popular take note fatshart.
Oh, and I was fucking right about the voice thing. The first two are female and the latter are male. Bruh.

Same as the body types are all hacked apart sexless meat dolls

Now Fatshark just needs to add some actual fucking mission content.
 
The madlads actually added Skitarii. This is the only DLC for this game that I've actually bought and the 2 missions as a cogboy I've played so far were really fun. Of course, everyone and their mother wants to be a Skitarii, but class diversity is inefficient in the eyes of the Machine God.

Just as the Omnissiah intended. The banter between skitarii is great anyways.

You cannot make a single argument for using a weapon in this game besides the galvanic rifle. Thing fucks. I have spent all my saved up currency on leveling two of them because my first one had fucked stats, oops.

Totally worth it, can't wait til I get the swords and talent into the claw of 'fuck this boss in particular'.
 
I'm excited to return to Darktide to since Admech is one of my favorite factions. Having a blast so far building ranged around the galvanic and arc gun. Can't wait to buildcraft when I finally get to 30, looks like you can make some pretty diverse builds.

It also helps that I upgraded my pc since I last played so I'm looking longer playing with like 40 fps or less.

Are either of the other two dlc characters worth picking up? I've seen a few Arbites, but no Hive Scum since I've been playing again.
