That's your first mistake.
I kid, I kid, Phil is capable of telling the truth sometimes. But...it's usually by accident, with him not realizing something he's admitting to is actually embarrassing and unusual because his hermit self has no idea how normal people act.
I think when it comes to health stuff especially, 9 out of 10 times, Phil is lying. Or at least, he's greatly exaggerating things. Even something as small as an ear infection he plays up as being some big medical issue. He's also famously played the "serious medical issue" card multiple times only for it to be revealed to be a nothingburger. Or even a lie to cover him doing something completely different. IIRC, his wedding trip was masked with the excuse of seeing his mom before she died...a lie he's then repeated multiple times over the years, with no hint whatsoever of either of his parents having so much as a medical scare, let alone actually being on death's bed. He also tried to do it with Jasper in the past, with people quickly calling him out on his BS.
We've also seen how Phil handles real medical emergencies from the Leanna years. He'd be complaining nonstop about something like how the hospital food sucks while Khet is getting chemo treatments, or something else that no reasonable human would do because they realize it makes them look like an awful person. If it were anyone else, I'd be generous and suggest they maybe learned from their mistakes and that's why Phil is keeping quiet about things...but if Phil was capable of learning, this thread would have closed years ago.
All that being said, I would never say Khet is healthy. I mean, even before the weight gain, I'd be hesitant to say that because she's pretty clearly not all there mentally. But I don't think it's nearly as bleak as Phil likes to imply. I think she's just naturally a lazy hermit, and living with Phil was the worst possible thing that could happen to her, since it allows her to embrace the lazy hermit lifestyle and become a fatty, which in turn leads to more medical issues because of her poor eating and lack of exercise. But much like Phil's back injuries, I think whenever it gets mentioned, he's playing up how bad it is.
