Then sometime last year I got recommended some Snort Burnell vid and idk I just kinda got hooked. He's got so much lore and there's always some new thing he does where you ask yourself "what's the reasoning behind that?" plus he's just so hateable.

Snort’s been around for so long that I imagine him as the Norm Peterson of the Snortex. He’s gonna have a stool at that bar forever.

For me it was the arc with the Kino boys when they pretended to be friends with him, I also remember being genuinely fooled by him at first as I thought he was just some harmless weirdo the Kino boys snaked to gain popularity, but now I know why this faggot has such a massive detractor audience.

i don't even know what started it. Boogie and Ja/ck/ were my top cows for the longest time (RIP samandtolki), and wings, ltg, and dsp were always very adjacent to that orbit. boogie and wings have gotten boring, fake, and gay with time, but phil and ltg have only produced better milk. aging like a fine authentic-style italian wine, if you will. sf6 came out around the time that boogie content was becoming intolerable for me, so it was easy to get pulled into the autism vortex here.

All the way back in 2009-2010 when I still had an audience on youtube I uploaded my playthrough of the shitty GoW clone Dante's Inferno. Out of nowhere my videos got flooded with comments referencing someone named Darksydephil and how it wasn't fair that my videos were up and his got copyright struck. I did some digging and found him and messaged him asking him to control his community because they were shitting up my comment sections, and he brushed me off and said something like it wasn't his problem and I deserved it for my videos flying under the radar.

Since then I've been observing his slow decline with great interest.

My best friend and I are/were involved in out local FGC in the SF4/SF5 era, and Phil and LTG are ever present memes so it all started from there.

Looked content about Phil to gain context and I at first thought, "this retard is funny" untill it morphed into "this retard is awful" and im too invested at this point to not atleast pay attention untill phil dies.

Years ago, which would have coincided in the time between Pandalee's departure and the back of the head Khet Christmas tree reveal, I kept getting recommendations for a video about some guy who played video games.

Very faggy, I thought. Why is YouTube recommending this fucking trash about some guy named Disp?

So I ignored it. And yet it kept recommending that video. And then after a while it started to recommend another video about this guy.

FInally, I clicked on it. It wasn't a video by DSP, it was one of the detractors -- I don't know who. I marveled at the sheer greed and duplicity that this man displayed. And first out of curiosity I started watching every video I could find about him. Then it was purely due to enterainment.

So fuck you YouTube. This was all your fault.

I have a similar story. Not sure how but I stumbled across one of Soma Julius Cruz's TIHYDP Street Fighter videos. I don't remember if it was for 4 or 5, but I spent the next few days watching a bunch of his Street Fighter/fighting game rage videos. Eventually I saw a restreamer and started watching around the time when the Vest Streak ended (I think it was LSB's stream of it) and that's pretty much when I got hooked in. Not only was I sucked into the Vortex, but it made me want to start playing fighting games as well which lead to my SF6 addiction the last couple years, so fuck you 2 times Youtube!

I believe this is him. There are indeed trees behind his house but I don't see any paths, and you know his fat waddling ass isn't gonna be trekking through brush. I really think it links back to his "every lie has a grain of truth" thing and that he's just feeding his animals. He hasn't interacted with people in so long he thinks it's a normal excuse to say that he's going out to feed the fucking wildlife. Like a pigeon lady? Like you've tamed squirrels? but there's something so satisfying about seeing a narc stripped of any intellectual ability to be an effective narc.

When i was a teenager, i could not afford to play many games since my parents were always broke, so i either pirated games (emulators mostly) or watched let's players.
One day, i wanted to see a let's play of Red Dead Redemption, so i searched and found this:

I never saw anyone struggle with the game (Red Dead is really fucking easy) let alone anyone failing the first mission so i found this to be insanely funny and decided to start watching DSP, i watched the entire playthrough and at the time i found DSP to be really funny.
I did unsubscribe from him very quickly though because he swamped my sub box with 20 videos a day, and then time passed and eventually i forgot about him.

Fast forward years later, the first TIHYDP ever created, MGS2, appears in my feed, i open it and i'm absolutely floored. How can anyone be THIS bad at gaming? This is insanity!
And then i start to recognize his voice... HOLY SHIT IT'S THAT GUY FROM THE RED DEAD VIDEOS! SO HE REALLY SUCKED AT GAMING, IT WAS NOT AN ACT!
When i watched the Red Dead playthrough, i thought he was acting bad on purpose... I thought he was playing a character, i did not realize he was really like this.
Then the TIHYDP craze started and i kept watching, i could not believe my eyes... Surely, this guy can't be this bad at EVERY SINGLE GAME EVER MADE, RIGHT?!?!?!

Then i started watching detractor videos and i fell into the rabbit hole, turns out this guy was not just bad at games, he was also a pathological liar and every video exposing his lies made me laugh my ass off.

I could not take my eyes off the trainwreck, and eventually, i became a detractors myself and made some TIHYDPs too. I stopped making them tho after a while because it was making me go insane, plus i really did not like people watching my channel for just Phil and ignoring all my other projects. And i did not want to deal with Superhound taking down my channel as well.

Nowadays i mostly just read this thread when i want to be caught up to his antics. I don't find him entertaining anymore, ever since he got married to Khet he became so freaking boring, i guess it does not help that Stream Chat plays the games for him now, so i don't even get to enjoy his fails.
We do get some gold once in a while though, like the Sidescrollers.
I only watch him now because i'm interested in seeing how this ends... Will karma eventually get to him, or will his luck stat never run out?

Long, long ago, back when Demon's Souls was originally released, there was this absolute loser who went by Kmalestrom and LiquidMK on Youtube. He bought the game day one and uploaded videos of himself playing it, very poorly, not understanding anything, dying and whining and blaming the game, and he had an awful voice. I watched these videos, and I laughed, and I looked at his other content but it was nothing but incredibly boring easy JRPGs, so he wasn't losing and raging and it was no fun. Sadly he DFEd a very long time ago, and I just checked now and can't find anything on Youtube for those usernames. I seem to recall him trying to go detractor at one point at well.

Anyway this is getting too long I was watching this other loser's videos and someone in a comment section said "This guy is even worse than DSP!" I looked up DSP and it was the same content but about every big new game that was coming out in real time and I'm still here today.

I agree. My current theory for the phone call was he was in his office with the door open and she was sleeping in the living room as that is her room now and him talking woke her up. But I don't think they talk. They certainly don't go on walks to feed the woodland critters, I think the grain of truth in that is that he's feeding/looking at his menagerie of birds and bunnies.

To be fair I definitely do that as well. I find it fun to speculate as to what motivates him, because yes he is just a narc but he's also just fuckin alien. I do think there are some things that set him apart, like the fact that he doesn't mask basically at all because he never had friends and never learned to but much of what he does isn't unique or special.

What's also funny in his unique case is that for most narcissists, today's social media-dominated internet is their wet dream come true. It allows for potentially limitless narcissistic supply. For Phail howerer, it's a fucking nightmare filled with potentially limitless narcissistic injuries. Every time he goes on some grandiose story about how much of a philosopher king inventor genius internet celebrity fighting game master he is, at least two dozen detractors immediately autistically disprove him, with evidence. What is even funnier is that 99% of the time it's not like there's any effort required to dispel his lies, people literally just need to play his own words back at him and he can't fucking handle that fact.
