I know its already been pointed out a thousand times but its insane how phil feels the need to apologize to his viewers for them not giving him enough money. I cant wrap my head around what he's even thinking or why he thinks it would work this way. And he tries to play it off like he isnt the one thats disappointed but instead the fans are upset he didnt make enough money so he's just disappointed that they're disappointed.
And this point just bring back the set goal amount and demand your fans give you that much money. That would be better than this weird thing he's currently doing where doesnt need to hit a certain amount of money each stream but he really does but he's afraid to say the amount he wants even though we all know what it is but he doesnt need to hit it every stream even though he does actually need to. Its just obvious he still has a goal but is doing anything he can to avoid stating there's a goal but ends up drawing constant attention to the nonexistent goal so the success of the stream ends up getting tied to a goal that supposedly doesnt exist. Its just way weirder than just having a stated goal, which is already weird tbf, but at least with a goal you're telling your audience the standard you're holding them to. This backhanded way of holding the viewers to certain standards and expectations is scummier than just directly asking.
You could've summed this all up by just saying "its insane" but I also like to longpost and effortpost and I think what is even insaner is the fact that his streams have entirely become about how much money he gets and not because he needs that money for his internet bill, his power bill and his khet bills but because da evil trolls and everyone made so much fun of him for so long and "convinced" the world that phil would always be stuck at level one and never make it that he has made his entire life about this shit and nothing else.
...no hobbies, no friends, no real mature life wife, just $150 twice a day so he can not pay his backtaxes, not pay his mortgage, not go on a honeymoon and spend it on crappy RGB plastic shit and WWE Champions...
I mean sure, he
technically was stubborn enough to "prove" to the world that he could make it against all odds and he lives of dies by the retards that tip him, but again, not because he'll starve without the money but because it would show the world that he actually didn't make it after all this time (18 years as a full time, on-demand, khantent creator)
It's always been about the prestige: the views, the subs, the live viewers, the tips, the bitch ears, how many people are in the chat, how many achievements he can get in whatever shitty game he has dragged out, the khando, the bmw, the mature adult on-demand khantent creator studio but its not like he has any use for any of this money since he seems to have no goals and no interests.
Someone made a very penultimate style post about another lolcow called Patrick Tomlinson who does have some similarities to Phil for sure, and someone else found this post so insightful and robust and flavorful that they used their premium k-farms membership to sponsor it on the front page:
That's 100% what happened. Don't forget that his entire writing career began because he read Hitchhiker's Guide and thought "I can write a better ending". Everything he's done in his adult life has been some form of cosplay. He can't even be a geek in a convincing way, which is something he takes a weird amount of pride in. He says he loves LOTR and even has a tattoo on his flabby shapeless arm but he's never read the books. He's seemingly not into gaming at all and only slurps up the most mainstream forms of geek culture that get pumped out, like whatever the latest slop from Marvel...
I think it sounds a lot like Phil in many ways. He legitimately barely has any real, actual interests or hobbies and the only things he is supposedly interested in, he must show off for them to be valid (such as khet's home style cooking, or him watching his retarded DVD/bluray collection every night on his TV downstairs, or his BMW, or fighting games, or statues).
Love or hate Keemstar, he was very correct about calling Phil as being penultimately stuck on level 1 - but I think it runs deeper than that, because even if Phil ever gets close to beating the level 1 accusations, he literally has no interests, no goals or anything of substance to do with his much fawned over prize of winning against da evil detractors (which is literally everyone)
