The variety thing works for how Phil streams, though. He doesn't want to commit to playing games if a whale doesn't give him regular money. It also promotes whales to pay up to keep a game in the rotation or get it played more. It may hurt the quality of Phil's streams, how much that matters to anyone.

And now he has to play a game with an attractive female protagonist, and after that, probably have his blood pressure shoot into hypertension territory angrily mashing his joystick in SF6 casuals against dudes who will likely be in their underwear scratching their balls barely paying attention, just unwinding after work.

That's why I'm surprised he still hasn't weaseled out of playing it.

I guess he's too desperate to play something on his PS5 that he didn't search what the game was in details.
He'll definitely drop it after one stream and I predict a stellar blade situation.

Maybe he'll get desesperate and bring out a Bethesda game to play vanilla.

With the release of S2 of the shitty Fallout Netflix show I'm surprised he hasn't hit the panic button and decided to play New Vegas... AGAIN... but this time it's gonna be a MAHDDED PLAYTHROUGH with like 2 light graphics mods and 1 QoL mod.

All these fucking weasel words just to avoid what he really is; a grifter and a poseur. Oh sure, he has all these bobbles and toys from games and sure he can tell you some upper layer lore for, like, some mainstream RPG on the PS2. But he doesn't actually give a shit about video games. I would say he wishes he could be TheRadBrad or AngryJoe or someone who is known for video games. But he doesn't even want that. He wants the prestige of being a gamer. And this is your daily reminder that Video Games have always been a toy for children.

Welcome... home is such a nice little bundle of essential DSPisms that it really is a perfect meme. I know he did it during GTA remaster too but doing it again after the Asmon bump confirms this dumb nigga really truly thinks there are just tens of thousands of lost sheep prodigal sons out there who are just waiting to be converted into full dents.

Phil is still my favorite lolcow because he deserves to suffer so much and every time he experiences even mild discomfort or anxiety he has to talk about it immediately. He will never be able not to do this because he is acutely aware of the fact that his wellbeing relies entirely on a daily roll of the dice to find out whether or not he will get screwed by someone lazy, retarded, possessing sinister intent, or some combination of the three.

This is true for everyone, by the way, it’s just easier to miss when most of it is indirect; maybe you didn’t get your tires rotated yesterday by an absolute mong, but the person doing 85 on the freeway coming up behind you might have. Phil just experiences it almost entirely directly. If Amazon or DoorDash has a demon at the wheel they stand to ruin his entire day, and I’m not saying that with 100% hyperbole; I’m sure it’s happened already but if he gets a driver who fucks up and/or doesn’t give a shit, that could literally derail his dinner plans and leave him utterly bewildered about how to solve the problem.

You can’t insulate against existential dread, Phil. Especially not when you built your own prison. Only way out is, well.

You know. :P

no, he can't just have this revelation for something such insignificant. I am almost sure the pretends distress again for pitty bucks.

also, this lip-smacking thing is unbearable. I can, somewhat, tolerate the snorts but after a few smacks I am out.
why does he always have to find something to torture his viewers with?
even if you are a tourist from asmongold, you can't even give him a chance by watching him, the dude is disgusting and thinks it's normal.

Exactly that, and just like everytime, a whale will save the day.

His life is such a loop I can already predict the next podcast he'll put that "i'm disappointed" facade and then pretend he did nothing wrong before doing snide remarks to his dents about low support.

If the cycle is something to be trusted, he'll get discovered by a bigger streamer in the next few months and we'll have another "welcome home" arc.
 
I watched the beginning of his list and was a bit worried when it contained the likes of Mind's Eye and AC Shadows which a lot of people (as opposed to alottapeeple) thought were a disappointment. Glad to see normal service resumed afterwards though. It is a shame he's going to get whaled out tonight, likely already confirmed with Jaxx, and deny us the gold dust.
