I think when people say he's "average" it's because on the surface level he doesn't seem like a complete nutcase and he doesn't have any profound physical deformities. You can see and hear that he ain't quite right but he's not on the level a total nutcase talking about AI goddesses like CWC or about bombing people like Danderson. Again, ON THE SURFACE. Tourists often have a very shallow and outdated understanding of who he is, they just know him as the guy who begs like a crackhead, plays games badly and jacked off on stream. Because of that, he doesn't seem as insane as someone like Gunt or Rekieta (though imo despite DSP being my main fascination both Rekieta and Gunt are way worse overall). They don't grasp just how mentally ill, narcissistic and delusional he truly is.

Again, on the surface he seems like the kind of guy who could've been somebody and had a long-lasting Youtube career but squandered it due to his hubris, it seemed like that hubris is something he got when his head got too big back in his glory days of late 00's/early '10s on Youtube. In that way he's quite unremarkable and there's 100s of zoomercore "rise and fall" video essayslop being produced on people who are just like that. The main difference is that those people may actually be talented and have produced actual entertainment at one point in time, Phil's khantent was always objectively irredeemable shit. Furthermore, if you look at his pre-Youtube history, he was always destined to be a failure bouncing from dead end job to dead end job until he gracelessly expires, as is the fate of 90% of male covert narcissists, but Youtube completely threw the wrench into that fate.

I know that calling Phil "the thinking man's lolcow" is a bit of a thing but I don't like it personally, not because it's too pretentious, but because Phil himself is legitimately too stupid and ignorant to have the phrase "thinking man's" ever associated in any way with him. Like every other lolcow who has been active for over a decade, most of the "joy" and "payoff" of following him is learning the lore, rather than watching him crash out, which brings me to another distinction of Phail's. He doesn't interact with anyone else, at all. He never goes outside either. He would never get into situations like going on an interracial cuckold event in Jamaica like how Rekieta did or getting his ass beaten ON TWO SEPARATE TRIPS TO THE SAME COUNTRY like Gunt. That's why he comes off as so fucking boring to outsiders.

I've heard the argument that DSP isn't a scammer since the donators are willingly giving him money or whatever but it really goes beyond that. Phil has a scammer mentality.
Indian call center scammers do genuinely believe they are entitled to the money of the elderly they trick. I've read many, many interviews where, sometimes not even under anonymity, they admit that if you're willing to part with your money then it's theirs and they feel nothing about it: no guilt or remorse. It's their money, you gave it to them. They won and they outsmarted you and that's just the way of things.

Phil may not be scaring grandma into giving him $2k in Google Play cards, but Phil is bullying ("I guess no more Tony Hawk if we don't hit the goal!") people willing to fall for things like his arbitrary $150 goal for his arbitrary $1500 meal. You gave him money for some made up bullshit, so it's his now. He earned it.

I saw a video the other day of some dude candidly recording himself pulling up to prostitutes, asking them if they'd take a cleaning job if he paid them 3x what they'd make whoring themselves out. None of them took the offer, they don't want to do normal work. A large portion of society wants to believe that women who whore themselves out all do it out of desperation, but the reality is that the majority of them get a rush from the lifestyle and willingly fuck strangers. It's the same with beggars. I'm not claiming women are born whores, or in Phil's case men are born beggars. Just like most things in life there's some interplay between nature and nurture going on. What I will say is that just like the whores who don't want to work a regular job and would rather suck the cock of some disgusting unwashed middle-aged scumbag, DSP is a beggar who will refuse any sort of regular job from here on out. He would rather lie, manipulate, create drama and scam people who are obviously mentally stunted in some way, usually by being on the spectrum, instead of doing real work.

There's a fat Nigerian nigger who hangs out in front of the supermarket around here and he has elevated begging to an art form. He has conditioned the little old catholic ladies to give him $5 minimum every time they see him and during the holiday season I've seen him receiving up to $100 on occasion. It's fucking ridiculous.
