inb4 he uses mimic tear after he had to work for his win with the fight with whats his tits in the sewers. Spoiler, mimic tear+10 is still extremely useful especially for a specific optional boss who gets health back from attacking you even if you block.

- you can play how you want

I don't think it's delusion so much as it's denial. He consistently shows signs that he's aware of how bad things are for him and that his hopes to recover, even before any of his biggest shitshows happened, were slim to none.
