Interesting seeing the bond conditions when you compare this to the Karmelo Anthony case (different state, I know). In the eyes of the court (and enforced by 8th amendment protections) this issue is due to one being a first-time offender with no solid evidence to prove a continuing threat if allowed to post bail and the other is a repeat offender with a pattern of behavior that marks him as dangerous and a flight risk. It's not right, but activist groups have worked hard to keep it that way lest it be “cruel and unusual punishment” to hold accused murderers without bail.
