Amber sounded a little high on the phone call too. Though that might just be from a whiny-girl accent, it sounds more like she's fucked up to me. She didn't sound 100% lucid when she was talking about the roads.

Yeah, that's where I was getting at. A lot of the true crime crowd tend to try to make it about themselves -- ie, the persistent belief that human traffickers are responsible for any woman's disappearance. Acknowledging that victims are just vulnerable sector people living high risk lifestyles isn't racism or prejudice, it's simply acknowledging a factor that likely played a role in their fate.
They also ignore a few details, too, because it makes the notion that a singular serial killer is responsible:
- One of the victims was lit on fire and discovered almost immediately.
- Two of them were killed in the early 2000s while the other two were killed about a decade later.
- One of the other victims usually isn't mentioned when Amber's case is brought up because it goes against the narrative of a serial killer annihilating Natives.
- The killer for two of the victims was found and he was incarcerated when the later murders happened.
And dumping bodies on rural properties is super common given how fucking big and stretched out Canada is. Doesn't mean that there aren't serial killers with that particular MO (Jeremy Skibicki is someone who was specifically targeting Native women), but these particular victims seem to only share geographical proximity.

Why don't gross serial killers just mix up their human parts with deer parts and throw them in one of those carcass trash bins? Do they search every bag of butchering waste when they come to empty them? If they do, I hope that guy gets paid well.

I honestly don't even know those existed. I'd guess ease of access or ignorance of them likely plays a role?
What I had meant with the dumping bodies on rural properties thing is that it's usually done by people from urban centres.
Also, for those who are just interested in True Crime stuff in general, one of Canada's TV networks, Global, has a series focusing on notorious criminal cases. Not sure if it's geoblocked, but episodes are uploaded on YouTube:

One important aspect not mentioned in the article is that it hasn't been confirmed whether the body was found buried or out in the open. All the police have said regarding where the body was discovered is that it was found lying face up in a wooded area.

If it's actually Yuki Adachi, the condition of the body makes it more likely that he was the victim of a stranger homicide/pedo snatching than a family homicide. Strangers are a lot more likely to leave the body of their victim out in the open compared to family members or intimate partners.
RIP to the victim, whether it's Yuki or some other unknown child.

He has a new stepfather (the guy who dropped him off, but japanese media doesn't mention that because of some culture reasons or whatever).
I don't think he was snatched a few meters from the school without anyone noticing.

I see. I was under the impression that it was the real father because he keeps being referred to as the 父親 in the media. That puts him back at the top of the sus list for me. Stepfathers are highly overrepresented as perpetrators of child abuse, sexual or not, within the family.
Upon looking it up, he’s apparently pretty young (only 24 years old i.e. not an age when you would typically have an 11-year-old kid).

I think 24 is just a rumor, he is younger than the mother but only by a few years (30 is what I read)

Do you think it's possible he got rid of the kid to start a new family? I think the Japanese have some weird hangups about kids from previous marriages, more so than in the West anyway.

The body has been confirmed to belong to Yuki.
Waiting for arrests now. It's worth noting his family has not appeared in media at all, the only mention I could find is people talking about seeing his grandma crying while looking for him.

According to rumors, they married in December of last year. I think it's more likely that Yuki was acting up like kids do in these situations which led to him being killed in an argument.

It’s late on Sunday, September 6th, 2020, or very early on the 7th, Chelsea Poorman is drunkenly exiting a party at an apartment near the intersection of Granville and Davie streets in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. Chelsea had attended the party with her younger sister, Paige, but left after getting into an altercation with other attendees. As she leaves, she pulls a fire alarm. Chelsea is often belligerent whilst intoxicated and has a history of pulling fire alarms.
Chelsea’s poor behaviour should not be surprising. The 24 year old Kawacatoose Cree woman seems to have grown up without her biological father being particularly involved in her life and spent part of her childhood in foster care after her junkie mother lost custody of her kids. Shortly after graduating high school, a feat for which she won an award as no one at Saskatoon’s Bishop Murray High School expected had her to graduate, she was hit by a speeding truck, and was left with permanent mental and physical disabilities. Essentially, Chelsea was left with poor impulse control, diminished intellectual abilities, and a noticeable limp. Earlier in the year, Chelsea had moved to Vancouver from Regina, Saskatchewan with her family “for a fresh start.”
Paige is clearly not worried about her disabled sister as she stays at the party. Chelsea apparently cools off quickly texting her sister that she has “met a new bae” not long after midnight. Chelsea doesn’t respond to any texts after this. My the next morning, messages her family send her appear as undelivered. By the 8th, Sheila reports Chelsea missing to the Vancouver Police Department. VPD has a set of criteria under which a missing person is considered “at risk.” Other police forces sometimes use the term “endangered.” Any missing person who is “mentally or behaviourally disabled” is “at risk” according to this policy. This means that VPD must launch an immediate investigation. They take Sheila’s report, but they do not begin investigating despite the fact that Sheila repeatedly told them that Chelsea was intellectually and physically disabled.
Sheila, Paige, and Chelsea’s stepdad, Mike, immediately contact every media outlet they can. Mike, who does not seem to have moved with his with to Vancouver, goes on a cross-Canada van tour to raise awareness. He appears on multiple news stories and podcasts. Sheila, Paige and their supporters cover Vancouver with missing persons posters. 10 days later VPD release a public bulletin and eventually put out a tweet as well. It will later be revealed that despite the area from which Chelsea disappeared having extensive CCTV coverage, VPD did not attempt to obtain any of the footage for weeks or months after Chelsea had been reported missing. By the time they requested footage, all or most of it had been deleted.
It’s April 22nd, 2022, contractors arrive at 1536 W 36th Avenue. This is a vacant mansion in Shaughnessy which is one of the wealthiest, most prestigious neighbourhoods in all of Canada. The home is owned by Mainland Chinese nationals who hold Canadian Permanent Residency. They reportedly had been unable to return to Canada from China due to pandemic travel restrictions. They took this as an opportunity to have renovations carried out on their mansion. One of the contractors lifts a blanket that is spread out in the overgrown backyard. Under it he finds the skeletal remains of Chelsea Poorman.
The British Columbia Coroners Service rules the cause of death as unknown, as their is absolutely no evidence to suggest how Chelsea died. VPD then announce that they’ve concluded that Chelsea died shortly after leaving the party and that they’re ending their investigation as the coroner didn’t rule her death the result of a crime. Chelsea’s family and their supporters are displeased with this outcome. They complain loudly to the media and hold vigils. In a rare move, the Coroners Service release a public statement clarifying that they do not dictate which cases police services can and cannot investigate. They make it clear that VPD could choose to investigate her death despite the cause being unknown. The owners of the mansion then release a public statement, through their representatives, stating that the City of Vancouver had sent inspectors to the property on multiple occasions since Chelsea disappeared, yet they did not find a rotting corpse.
Renovations are often a bureaucratic nightmare in Vancouver. This is even truer in an historical neighbourhood like Shaughnessy. Reporters are able to confirm that on August 11th, 2021, the City of Vancouver sent work crews to survey and place protection barriers around the trees on the property. On April 12th, 2022, surveyors performed a drive-by inspection. The following day, they returned to the property where they met with representatives from the construction company and reviewed thoroughly reviewed what work was to be performed in order to ensure all the paperwork had been done correctly and permits obtained. The area where Chelsea’s body would be found nine days later was where much of this work was being done.
VPD caved to public pressure and re-opened their investigation though a representative as stated, “though our work continues, there have been no significant findings or developments since her remains were discovered.” Oddly, the BC Coroners Service also re-opened their investigation, though has made few public statements since. Chelsea’s mother would later learn from Coroners Service staff that many of Chelsea’s fingers and portions of her skull were missing.
Sheila filed a complaint with the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner of British Columbia (OPCC). OPCC directed the New Westminster Police Department to investigate potential misconduct on the part of the VPD members who were involved this case. The investigation remains ongoing.

My guess is someone who worked on the mansion either did it or knows who. Doesn’t seem like someone would know they could dump the body there unless they knew they could do that.

I didn't mention it because I cannot confirm the dates are correct, but multiple satellite photos show evidence of construction months before her body was found. I suspect work around the trees, and the plumbing and gas line work were the parts that waited for permits. It was definitely one of the construction dudes. They were working there for longer than reported; if sketchy characters are hanging around at abandoned properties, the people there call the cops; and I suspect the body was moved there for discovery. If you look at the Google Maps image of the neighbourhood, the houses are pretty close to each other. The neighbours would have smelled a rotting corpse.
I'm going to look for a case that checks every box. I think I know of one already, but have to review the details and make sure it hasn't already been discussed.

Canadian cops are worthless at the best of times. You could call them about your stolen property that you've located and they won't do anything about it. Except arrest you if you take it back.
But also if you've ever spent time around the kind of natives that get drunk and pull fire alarms, they go missing all the time. They'll wander off, lose their phone, spend a few weeks living in a tent in a friend's backyard and eventually wander home. It's very much immovable object vs. unstoppable force.

I think about JF Gariepy, his (likely) mashed potato, and how the RCMP seems completely unconcerned about finding her. I thought it was odd but in light of all these cases, it seems completely normal, unfortunately.
That’s okay if it’s already been discussed. Someone brings up Amy Bradley every couple weeks.
