Do you know what sucks?
Being one of the few people that keeps giving a fuck about loving their job and what it means to others.
I don't feel too bad for Shakir. He is a solid actor that probably will only have to wait for a few months to appear in more and more great movies that will slowly but surely confirm him as one of the best performers of his generation. The man is a musician to boot and let's face it, he also is a looker so he won't go hungry.
Ed's actor won't have to worry either. Plenty of people start their careers or have their great first moment in the spotlight being absolute rubbish. She will recover and nonbinary actors are going in vogue. I want to believe that even the retards at Netflix hired her not only for her identity but her talent.
Same with any other asshole involved in this. They didn't care but this won't kill their careers, even though that Park guy fucking deserves for playing himself.
But those two hurt because they tried. Nothing sucks nearly as much as being the only idiot that cares about what they are doing.
What would it be with None Piece, will we see again people that at least try? What about ATLA?
Even today, there are plenty of people that care for more besides the paycheck or credits. Being the only one on your production that cares sucks.

Well with Netflix One Piece, the head writer and some of the actors are fans of the source material even before they worked on it. It won't mean that it will be good, but it will have more care compared to this.

ATLA is unknown but that probably won't be good when the original creators have left the project which is never a good sign.

Kotaku compiled some thoughts from Japanese commenters on what they thought about Cowboy Bebop’s cancellation

“Respect the original work. The director doesn’t need to interpret or change things.”

“Maybe if they made in Japan it would be better…right?”

“I liked it. But from the beginning, I went in with low expectations.”

“Eh, it really wasn’t that bad. I quite enjoyed it.”

“Remake it with Keanu [Reeves].” (There was an earlier attempt to do a live-action Cowboy Bebop with Reeves.)

“I liked it okay, but perhaps I enjoyed it because of the dubbing.” (In Japan, the original voice actors for the anime did the Japanese dub for the live-action Cowboy Bebop.)

“I saw it, and it seemed like this was created by people who didn’t understand Cowboy Bebop and just, for the time being, slapped the name on it.”

“I wonder why because it was enjoyable…”

“Make something original with this budget.”

“Keanu [Reeves] would’ve been good.”

“I watched it because the original anime is so popular, but got bored and turned it off.”

“Foreigners sure are quick at cutting their losses, huh.”

“Eh, it was actually pretty good. I guess international fans weren’t into it.”

“Well, in the first place, you’d say watch the anime instead of watching the live-action adaptation.”

“Live-action adaptations aren’t necessary.”

“I wanted to see the scrapped Bebop with Keanu Reeves.”

This sounds like another edition of Get Woke, Go Broke.

Like, an actress who played an adaptation of an anime girl is bragging and boasting to the fans on how they couldn’t find a DD sized girl for the job? Who the fuck does that and not expect backlash?

And people were mad about the outfit, not the breasts. It was such a weird response. Maybe she has her own hang ups about her chest size.

Netflix Bebop talk has hit this funny part of discourse where guys have to say "Okay it wasn't great BUT..." because they're worried someone will call them a "chud" on Twitter for saying the line "Welcome to the ouch" was cringe a few weeks ago.

Sometime last week, my husband trolled me and started playing the first episode of this garbage. He thinks I'm hilarious when I'm watching something that I'm hating, haha.

I couldn't get past that opening scene, because it is such an abject disaster of epic proportions. Have people made videos breaking down that first scene? Because I could easily make an hour-long video breakdown with just how badly Netflix fucked up from the very first scene. That opening scene alone gives content creators more than enough material to work with, and I am genuinely saying this with zero hyperbole.

Just to give a taste as to what's so bad about that opening scene:

Anime: *armed robber begrudgingly points out the irony of robbing from a store that purchased their security system from the same company that laid him off*

Netflix: "I GOT FIRED FROM MY JOB, WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SETTING I'M IN. REEEEEEE THE CORPORATIONS, MAN!"

I was also horrified by how careless Spike and Jet were being, killing off their bounties left and right and just going "oopsies!" over it. Never would this EVER happen in the anime. Good lord almighty. The Bebop crew is full of misfits, for sure, but adept misfits who are victims of bad luck and circumstance.

Anyway, before I rant even more, my husband had not seen Cowboy Bebop. After seeing that one catastrophic opening scene from the Netflix series, I immediately showed my husband the beginning scene of the Knockin' On Heaven's Door movie. He commented on how much cooler, smarter, and somehow less cartoony the anime did it. My husband is currently in the process of watching the entire series, and he's loving it so far. So ... There we go. I hope this terrible Netflix series has motivated more people to check out the original.

I’ve seen a lot of people point out how it’s just a recreation of the opening of the movie, only done terribly and in a way that immediately shows you they don’t know these characters.
