"Your brooding the last couple of weeks has been getting on my nerves"
"You know they have bidets in the bathroom?(...) That gentle warm water really eases the stress"
Why does Spike and Jet sound like a gay couple? *sigh*
This is [current year]+6, if two women are in a scene they're lesbians, if two men are best friends they're secretly gay.

This dialogue sounds like a mix of being written by Joss Whedon and Doug Walker.
Black Guy, Woman, get in here, I see a wanted individual!

Sure it was different but it's still garbage and one flaming dumpster fire is no different from another one.

Besides American Death Note and Bebop both have the same issue of missing the point of the source material with Deathflix treating Light as just a normal kid who was corrupted by power with no themes of justice anywhere while Netflix Bebop doesn't understand how crappy the world of Bebop is and treats it like a fun sci-fi romp akin to Doctor Who and the MCU.
Oh, for sure. I just meant they said from the beginning ADN was going to be “Americanized” or whatever. Bebop kept changing its story to the very end.

One thing I've realized which Faye is a perfect example of is female characters today are both written and cast to just be stand ins for the female audience.

Which is why they look like female baristas at Starbucks, so the barista at Starbucks can imagine "what if I was not a barista but a space bounty hunter!" as they scoop down Hagen Das, surrounded by cats.

You don't even need to be Japanese to understand Death Note either. You just have to pay attention in English class when reading Doctor Faustus.

Though the character is male, I think Harry Potter is a big reason for that, he was very obviously meant to be a self insert, so for the generation that grew up with that the idea of a character not being a self insert is alien to them.

Cowboy Bebop is very well liked in Japan. It continues to get support and merch to this very day. Everything from themed cafes, rebroadcasts of the TV series to being included in Super Robot Wars amongst other fan favorite franchises like Gundam and Mazinger Z. The idea that only America likes Cowboy Bebop is beyond retardéd. The Cowboy Bebop movie literally premiered in Japan at the same time Bebop first started being broadcasted in America. In case you didn't know, companies don't make full length theatrical movies for unpopular franchises.
Glad to hear it, I was under the impression the series was obscure and unpopular in Japan, I wonder why people spread rumors like that?

However I've heard that the movie was a flop and put the kibosh on plans to make other Cowboy Bebop movies, sucks that we've not had any real Bebop media in 20 years.

I think it's because Japan has seen shows like it before while to Americans it was more groundbreaking. So it's just that Japan didn't go super hard in hyping it up like the Americans.

Watched first half of episode one. Not the worst thing in the world.

Has the Hollywood over explained writting (inb4 netflix). I'll live. Since some of the early trailers I feel the look is intentional and idk, I'm too tired to get worked up over artistic differences anymore. It tries to look the look and not think it's superior or anything.

Faye though is too aggressive. Before she yelled "fuck u!" to Jet as a first greeting, I could see the same lines said for the most part but with a a more intellectual voice. This faye is over compensating, Not trying to hate things to hate things but this Faye is projecting OVER COMPENSATING more than OG faye.

Also new music is cool. Cant wait to find out where Yoko Kanno ripped off these songs from.

I can see where anime autistic virgin types will throw their hissy fits but as a before bed throw away entertainment show with the better half, it's aight. Worse comes to worse, I just watch the old show again instead of wasting too much energy.

I predict the audience score will get lower or stay in the current range

I've been skimming through the show since this morning. I cant watch more than 5 minutes without cringing on a deep personal level. Worse than all the current year character gender bending is the horrible dialogue ripped straight from Joss Wheadon's trash.

The acting is horrible. Cho has 0 charisma and cant help but look like an old man every scene hes in. Jet is an over emotional simp that would make Tariq Nasheed tremble. Faye is just annoying girlboss now.

Skipped to the last episode because I dont have the patience to watch this.
> "Dont Lose, Me!" is now a zoom enhance meme scene.
> They pushed Ballad of the Fallen Angels to the last episode and made Julia save Spike by shooting Vicious.
> She then proceeds to shoot Spike through a window because he doesnt want to take over the Syndicate with her.
> Cue Green Bird.
> Julia keeps Vicious in a basement and is set up as the villain of season 2
> They/Them Ed is here boys :cryblood:
