Cowboy Bebop is very well liked in Japan. It continues to get support and merch to this very day. Everything from themed cafes, rebroadcasts of the TV series to being included in Super Robot Wars amongst other fan favorite franchises like Gundam and Mazinger Z. The idea that only America likes Cowboy Bebop is beyond retardéd. The Cowboy Bebop movie literally premiered in Japan at the same time Bebop first started being broadcasted in America. In case you didn't know, companies don't make full length theatrical movies for unpopular franchises.
Who would say no to Shinichiro Watanabe though? It was probably a critical hit over there, but there were those issues with the original broadcast that got it canceled and put on a different channel. I've never heard of them having cafes for it, pics?

Watanabe was not a household name among anime directors at the time. Bebop is the reason he became popular.

The original broadcast wasn't "cancelled." The plan was always the series is a selling point for the satellite channel that had the full uncensored broadcast. It had a 6 pm slot on TV Tokyo which made about half the episodes unairable.

And as for the cafe.

For uncultured American weebs Cowboy Bebop is the best. For the Japanese they still could barely GAF about it or remember it exists.
Yeah, somewhat true. Cowboy Bebop lifts heavily from Lupin III and to a lesser extent, Space Adventure Cobra, amongst other things. If you've seen those shows first (like most Japanese), this won't seem so impressive.

Normie Americans that haven't seen those shows will find Bebop amazing.

I still have the Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro VHS tape and Space Adventure Cobra comics I got in the early 90ies.

Normie Americans are lazy AF to watch anything that requires even the most minimum of work beyond clicking the "power" button on the TV remote.

Holy shit what an utter travesty. Did I hear that right, are they gender switching Matsumoto?

Anyone got spoilers for this? I heard that Faye gives a dude a BJ for info and sleeps with a lady now. I had also heard Jet would have a daughter, which one of these clips confirmed.
Yes, they turned half of the side male characters into females. Because anything made now by Faggotwood has to have that diversity.

The dialog is atrocious and everything else too, then 'Fay' walked in and it became a Nostalgia Critic skit.
It's shit like this that gives me the confidence in my own writing skills. God this is going to be an absolute trainwreck. Anyone want to place bets on this only getting one season?

Not even the shill critics are liking this hot turd. My bet is that all the marketing push will stop after the release and that it'll be silently cancelled a few months after, never to be spoken about again.

It's likely going to be in the same state as Death Note where contrarians and pseudo-intellectuals praise it and then things are forgotten about with the second installment coming who knows where.

At least American Death Note said it was going to be American Death Note.

Sure it was different but it's still garbage and one flaming dumpster fire is no different from another one.

Besides American Death Note and Bebop both have the same issue of missing the point of the source material with Deathflix treating Light as just a normal kid who was corrupted by power with no themes of justice anywhere while Netflix Bebop doesn't understand how crappy the world of Bebop is and treats it like a fun sci-fi romp akin to Doctor Who and the MCU.
