Bebop was definitely dystopian, the whole point is it's a space faring future but one that sucks, unlike say Star Trek, it's an interesting contrast with the 90s where most things had a pretty optimistic view of space exploration.

The 2010s and later have been absolutely cursed for this stuff.
Imagine prior to all this telling Star Wars, He-Man, Thundercats, Cowboy Bebop, Discworld or LotR fans their beloved franchises would finally get some new material but it's made by people that seem to hold actual disdain for the originals.

Have they started the "you're a bigot" if you dislike it stuff yet?
It's a nightmare, I feel like the early 2010s had so much potential, people had a desire to bring back cool stuff from the past, but something went wrong along the way and instead we just get people ruining old things.

Looks like Netflix really didn't want to throw out bribe money.
The show won't come on till a few more days, but I bet people will defend this
As always. Contrarian retards and journos will make up every excuse for this dumpster fire.
When you miss the point of Bebop's setting so badly that even retards on twitter are right, like holy fuck
Yeah but the galaxy is diverse and multicultural so it evens out!
Faye is turned into beaner walmart ada wong.
Absolute state of modern writers. Makes me laugh and weep these idiots go up to their eyeballs in debt for that.

I mean given the most negative reviews of the show come from critics, I doubt even Journos would save this shit and only defense would just be when retards can't seperate actors from their characters.

Yeah but the galaxy is diverse and multicultural so it evens out!
Wait so does that mean America is a perfect utopia now to those people?

You guys remember when Star Wars 9's plot got leaked? I really want some disgruntled employee to leak the entire plot of season 1 so I don't even have to bother watching this shitfest through a third party.

I mean...its just cowboy Bepop script with terrible MCU dialogue and CtrL + Fing everything to be woke. Glad I saved you the time of watching this trash.

I don't know the original material, but the Netflix show looks like garbage. That trailer, trying to be stylistic with Jazz music and it all falls so flat and lame. Is that what the original is like?

No. The original is regarded pretty universally as great television with interesting stories, stellar animation, great direction and incredibly compelling characters. Its certainly one of the best anime's to have ever been made. The Jazz overlay with the Opening is iconic for a reason.

The Netflix version is just surface level trash with barely any flash and none of the filling.

It seems split. People familiar with the show hate it and those who know nothing about source material like it.

Joss Whedon is a disgusting pedophile but people forget he tried it with Firefly.

For uncultured American weebs Cowboy Bebop is the best. For the Japanese they still could barely GAF about it or remember it exists.
Cowboy Bebop is very well liked in Japan. It continues to get support and merch to this very day. Everything from themed cafes, rebroadcasts of the TV series to being included in Super Robot Wars amongst other fan favorite franchises like Gundam and Mazinger Z. The idea that only America likes Cowboy Bebop is beyond retardéd. The Cowboy Bebop movie literally premiered in Japan at the same time Bebop first started being broadcasted in America. In case you didn't know, companies don't make full length theatrical movies for unpopular franchises.
