There appear to be thousands in support of the new Junta that was formed and some flying Russian flags with quite a few saying it was Russian influenced, I am not 100% on this but this is based off of what I got from feeds.
This appears to be some domino effect in Africa lately, Sudan. Chad and Mali had coups last year and this is the first one this year.

There's 1k+ responses in the Ukrainian thread of people debating if a war is going to happen. Meanwhile we have a couple dozen responses about an actual coup in Africa. Truly, nobody fucking cares about Africa. They could execute the president live on camera with a machete and the first response would be, "Niggers, lol."
This puts truth to the fact that the Ukrainians might be the Niggers of Europe, but at least they're not actual niggas.
In defense of Burkina Faso's military, the western approach to counterterrorism hasn't exactly worked. Afghanistan is still a shit show, meanwhile Chechnya is mostly fine and Syria is becoming fine.

It doesn't help that the 60%+ of the country which identifies as muslim is largely Salafist. That population demographic is the most ripe for islamic terrorism, and there is a reason why Burkina Faso still has Islamic State militant problems.
Additionally, as others have mentioned, the French military involvement has been a dismal failure. *IF* they plan to bring in the Wagner group, I wouldn't blame them. The seem to have a decent track record in Syria dealing with radical Islamists. Here's another article claiming that they are:

Brother, ain't that the truth. There is a really bloody all out, total mobilization civil war still going on in Ethiopia, and nobody fucking cares. Hell, I don't really care, and it's basically in my job description to care about such conflicts.
