I'm glad that first thing they thought when they saw cotton was black slaves.

But like seriously, if cotton triggers them that much then I'd recommend they don't look at the tags on most of their clothes.

lol the cotton wasn't even taken off the stalk, of course a nigger would look at that and be reminded of their own work.

I was about to say: "Well, duh. That was his character"

I hoped she was kidding, and she might be, idk, but the people losing their minds over it on Facebook is fucking amazing. People are trying to outdo one another with telling her how stupid she is. And they look really smart doing so.

Triangles are a symbol of antisemitism. Do you know how many Hebrew slaves died making pyramids?

Ooh, what about tobacco?

No more swisher sweets, no more spliffs, no more newports.

Agriculture ain't so racist anymore, now is it?

We should just exterminate every species that might make someone uncomfortable. It's really just the polite thing to do.

It's gonna be a shit storm when we have to wipe out an offensive species for one group but then discover that species was scared to some other group.

Update to the story and - SHOCK AND HORROR - people thought this person was a nutbar and called her out, and - SHOCK AND HORROR PART DEUX - she claims to have gotten death threats!!!! Ohhh noooo...

Also enjoy the complete 12-minute interview...

Actually, this happens all the time. I've known people who grow cotton for profit in the South, and even if you're black, you will get called a racist nearly daily. "Cotton is racist" is a daily thing you will hear. And has been for like forty years.

It's pretty amazing, and I can't believe it took this long to make it to civilization.

Edit: as an aside, strangely, even if you're a white man who owns a little gulf based sugarcane plantation staffed only by black people, no one will ever make the connection even jokingly. No idea why. It was at least as iconic as cotton historically.
