The Farms are being hit with a massive DDOS attack that Josh is actively trying to mitigate. For the moment only Torchads can access the site, although some people have reported not being able to connect via Tor at certain points either.

Edit: Ooh alarm clocks, is it. I figured it might be useful for people who check community features but didn't notice the admin notification.

Edit: OK so clearnet is up again, possibly with tighter rate limiting. I guess it may be sporadic given how Josh described the attack.

Right at midnight last night the site went down. Tartarus was overwhelmed. It's now 6pm and I've gotten about 4 hours of sleep in that time.

This is one of the largest attacks we've ever received. We have 5 different providers in 8 different locations. One of them reported that he was eating 800Gbps of attack traffic...

Basically, of our 8 frontend servers, 7 were to small to deal with 1/8th of the attack's traffic that survived DDoS filtering. The big one could handle the entire attack, but the provider null routed it, so now I have to upgrade the smaller servers and try again. I've also reached out to the last DDoS provider I can possibly think of that might facilitate us. If they can't, and I can't sort this out otherwise, I might literally have to start my own. I'm sort of running out of options.

The last owner of the domain hosted content about paint.net (his trademark) and tried to profit off paint.net. From this, he hired a lawyer to get paint.net on the basis of "trademark infringement/domain squatting" and now owns paint.net:
